Love is Blind season 7 tested what it meant to fall in love…again. Are looks, money, and other superficial things important when it comes to matters of the heart? Or can you fall in love with someone sight unseen? We watched a group of people navigate these questions. And since we can’t control ourselves (as evidenced by the breakdown for episodes 1-6, 7-9, 10-11, and the finale), here we leave you with our breakdown of the season 7 reunion!
1. The Love is Blind reunion was a little messy, but not nearly messy enough. Do you feel like Nick and Vanessa always go too easy on these contestants? What questions would you have liked to see asked?
Lizzie: YES. Where were the receipts about Tyler’s family? About Stephen’s texting? We missed out on all the good conversations this season of Love is Blind, and then the reunion added nothing other than Nick and Vanessa asking the obvious questions. No, we need mess. If they’re going to host this, they need to be a little messy. We could have seen some of the footage from the Alex and Tim fight! We could have gotten answers? Instead everyone got to say their piece and the way they looked at the end of it mostly depended on how good or bad people were at articulating.
Lyra: Nick and Vanessa forget that they’re not these contestants friends. They’re the hosts. And I wish they would push the needle and make entertaining TV. Because this was truly giving, “Let’s make the best with what we’ve got.” But what you’ve got is plenty of missing scenes and a clear problem where everything feels carefully orchestrated but in a boring way. Things are getting tired Love is Blind.

2. Most of the men in Love is Blind Season 7 seem to be garbage. Rank them, from worst to best.
Lizzie: This feels like an impossible question. Considering Tyler didn’t actually lie to Ashley (not that I like how he handled the whole thing and seems to have dropped his kids), I might still rank Ramses first. Then Tim, Tyler, Stephen (yeah, imagine, guys who didn’t cheat are worse!). Leo is up next. Then Nick. And finally, Garrett who seems to be the best one of the bunch.
Lyra: From worst to best, my answer has changed considerably from what I thought from episode 1. Tim is my number #1. You know how women get those spidey-senses when something is wrong? Or they spot something in a woman that gets the alarm bells going? I got the alarm bells watching Alex’s reaction to Tim. And the way he spoke to her, had those spidey-senses tingling, especially after how bothered he got when he was called, “A little b*tch.” Something is off there.
Next up is Nick. He’s didn’t want to own up to also being terrible while going for that social media career. Pass. Then Stephen. He, like Tim, are giving subtle manipulation and it’s giving manipulation. He could’ve talked and said his piece. Instead, Stephen said no one would believe him anyway, so why explain? And then he proceeded to explain. But not to bury the hatchet with Monica. No, he didn’t talk to her. He talked to us, the audience, to make he looked good. He didn’t.
From there we have Ramses, who gave us absolutely nothing and might as well have stayed home. Then Tyler because no matter what we saw on stage, we’ve seen the baby mama’s videos online. I can’t believe I’m saying this but Leo, who owned up more to what happened than Nick did. And finally Garrett, who seems to be flourishing. Which, we love to see growth.

3. Did anything that happened in the reunion change your mind about something you saw during the season?
Lizzie: I don’t think anything we saw with Nick changed my mind, because I don’t think one thing makes up for another …Hannah was still very mean, even if she feels like she had a reason, she was still taking out her insecurities on Nick. But what he did was not cool, so we can admit talking about someone’s looks behind her back is very uncool, and I can see Hannah’s insecurities could have played a part in all that happened. Still, she was mean over and over and never actually confronted him about this, which is weird considering she said over and over that she was “direct.” In the end, I’m just glad these two are not together, period.
As for Tyler, I’m still not very pleased about all the lying, staging, and the fact that it does seem like he dumped 3 kids he was previously involved with, but he didn’t lie to his wife, so I guess there’s that? I thought he had, so maybe he’s marginally less awful than I figured.
Lyra: I had a tiny glimmer of “Nick was done dirty by Hannah all season long with her nasty barbs.” Now we come to find out from practically everyone that Nick was serving up his little jokes and barbs behind the scenes. Look, I don’t like Hannah, but at least she can (eventually) admit she was being a b*tch. That’s more than what Nick can say. He admitted nothing and acted like he was a golden angel. And he wouldn’t have been backed into a corner like this if he wasn’t lapping up the attention from Love is Blind and commenting on anti-Hannah stuff. Which, I get it. She was rude. But feeding into that rudeness just makes you as rude as the original rude person. So congratulations, Nick. You played yourself.

4. What was the most cringe-worthy moment of the reunion for you? And the best?
Lizzie: Tim trying to gaslight Alex, and us. Poor woman couldn’t even get in a word edgewise. I’m going to be honest, Tim was giving a walking red flag. I’m glad you got away from him, Alex.
Best? This was a pretty tame reunion, but I do think Ramses and Stephen throwing Nick under the boss was a top moment. Not that it excuses Hannah, but it was still hilarious that it happened.
Lyra: The most cringeworthy moment for me from the Love is Blind season 7 reunion had to be Ramses giving us nothing while Marissa sat there clearly emotional. You would think that if it’s been a year, he would have a better explanation on why he said no to marrying Marissa. Instead he just kept with the same excuses that amounted to basically “the vibes weren’t vibing.”
As for best moment from the reunion, AD and Marshall. Their reactions were 10/10 and they need to return for every reunion. Truly felt like they were the audience at home come to life on that stage.

5. What did you think about Tyler’s explanation about his “sperm donor kids” and Ashley standing by him?
Lizzie: Ok, LOOK, this is an indictment on the show because these two basically went “We talked about this before and then knowingly lied on camera,” which is true means Love is Blind is good for absolutely nothing, and if not it means Ashley is covering for her husband because she feels this is the only way to not look bad. Either way, from what we’ve heard Tyler has just dropped these kids the played house with for years, and that’s nasty. And it’s nasty of Ashley to support it.
Lyra: This moment right here broke the entire illusion of Love is Blind for me. And this is coming from a seasoned reality TV viewer. I know this is carefully orchestrated from start to finish. But the fact that Ashley and Tyler were so blatant about lying to the cameras, really broke my enjoyment. Reality TV needs to be more about candid moments than anything. And them being so blatant about how it was all planned really explains why I never connected with these two. I don’t know them and they do not care for the process. In fact, I think they’re just like Nick. Want to make sure they look good on TV so they can become the next Lauren and Cameron. And I’m tired of this becoming a social media star machine. Next.

6. Are Taylor and Garrett the only ones we trust this season?
Lizzie: Truly, the only ones. And they seemed happy and in-sync! I know there’s been some criticism about the fact that they didn’t move to San Diego because it was hard for Garrett, and some people have categorized that as Taylor “giving up her dream,” but I see it more as a compromise considering they’re moving to D.C. Taylor was alone, and when she was alone moving to San Diego to be near her parents made sense. Now, she’s got a partner. And pushing just her wants without considering his would not have been very good, either. I like that it feels like they’re both content with the decision and that Garrett seems to get along with her parents, too!
Lyra: Truly happy to see where Taylor and Garrett have ended up this season. Almost makes me believe in the magic of this show. Almost. As for the criticism surrounding them not moving, I think they’ll eventually move to San Diego. Maybe not now. But someday. Because they seem like they actually talk. *gasp* And communicate. *another gasp* And who knows where their dreams will now take them now that they have each other to nurture the others dreams?
Garrett in particular seems to be blossoming. And not in a I’m pretty and had a glow up way cuz fashion way. Garrett seems to be taking care of himself for himself. But also exploring things that toxic masculinity maybe closed the doors for him because he has a partner in Taylor that is warm, receptive, and creative. All around it looks like growth. And that’s a good thing.

7. We have a date for Season 8! Are you prepared? Any first impressions on the contestants we saw?
Lizzie: No one’s ever prepared, truly. Especially for a Valentine’s Day premiere. Also, that one guy (Alex) looks like he’s 12, please someone tell me how old he is. I’m concerned.
Lyra: These contestants look sooooo young. Which, I get Love is Blind is trying to bring in new demographics in, but they look sooooo young. And no, I’m not prepared for more. They really are just churning these seasons out, aren’t they?
