We’re all haunted by something. This is something that I know to be very true and it’s something that Found reminded us of this week.
Some shows are afraid to take on somethings, but Found, well this week they took on quite a few things. Being haunted by the past, grief, mental illness, and fear. They made sure to touch on all subjects in such a way that was caring and not demeaning. They made sure to fill the episode with heart.
And they somehow made my mind change on a lot of feelings and opinions of people. I am not sure where they are going with things, because if we’re being honest, somethings are easter eggs and somethings are meant to lead us astray. I am not sure of what is important and what isn’t.
What I do know is that the team at M&A need each other. They are better because of each other. The good, the bad, and the ugly – they can survive it all. It’s a matter of making it through and it’s a matter of them remembering what they mean to each other.
The one thing that they can’t deny is just how much they do mean to each other.

MARGARET
We all know that Margaret hasn’t been my favorite. She’s been moody and judgmental this season. Even though I know that for her, that is in part because trust is the only thing she has and it was broken – I don’t accept her moodiness. It’s annoying.
Margaret isn’t a victim and she’s come across like she’s been all season. Where Gabi did lie, she wasn’t in her right mind. None of them have been. In this episode Margaret isn’t in hers.
Staying with Dhan is something I didn’t expect, but I am thankful for. I am thankful that she has someone, because she’s not doing good not being at the bus station. Having someone to keep her grounded is something I firmly believe that she needs. The thing is though, someone can’t keep you grounded if you don’t let them in.
She hasn’t let them in. That being said though, the team hasn’t been paying attention to everything. They’ve been so focused on Gabi and what she’s done, they’ve lost track of time. The team doesn’t realize that it is the 11th, which is Jamies birthday.
Margaret is breaking. She’s haunted.

THE CASE OF KANE
Walking into M&A, Gabi is reading Trent the riot act. He took away all Zeke’s tech and she’s not going to forgive that. He’s become persona non grata for that. But she’s got to focus, there is a teenage girl who is outside the office and her mother is missing.
She believes that her mother was taken by the bad man and she’s next.
The girl explains to the team that her mother had them living in a RV because they always had to be on the run from a man named Kane. Stevie (the teenager) is terrified for her mother, and the team is definitely going to take the case.
One thing that I love about this team is that it doesn’t matter what is happening, they are going to be there for the people that need them. The team is going to make sure they find Stevies Mom and they are going to keep Stevie safe.
Even when Trent shows up.
When Trent walks in like nothing happened, Gabi dismisses that quickly. She takes him right back to the lobby, letting him know he can’t just walk into the office anymore.
As much as I dislike Trent right now, I do think that he cares. He cares a lot about Gabi and so when she asks to let Stevie stay, Trent agrees to hold off CPS for 24 hours. Man, every single time that I decide that I don’t think Trent is redeemable, he finds a way to show that he is.

THE RV
When Trent and Gabi agree to work the case together, he invites her to go search the RV that Stevie and her Mom lived in. Dhan has found something though on a camcorder that Stevie gave them. It’s her Mom, terrified, seeing a man in the distance and recording him.
Something wasn’t adding up, but in true Found fashion, they let us know when the time is right. Gabi and Trent each find something, but only Trent lets her know what he’s found. Gabi keeps hers a secret and only shares hers with the team. It’s a bunch of journals that make no sense, as they were written during the Reagan administration.
Now while they make no sense, things are about to.
The team has talked to Stevie’s Moms boss and she’s just cray. The team is leaving no stone unturned. Then, the person that they believe is Kane from the footage, along with another woman, show up. Trent pulls a gun, but it turns out that the man and the woman are family.
Stevie’s Mom is a woman named Alice who had schizophrenia. She disappeared when she was 18 and the family had tried to make contact with her. They wanted to be there for her and protect her, but didn’t know how to be. So they kept an eye on her from a distance.
The night that Alice had disappeared, her Uncle had found her in a psychosis. He went to get help, but when he got back, Alice was gone. There was no one at the RV.

THE GRAVEYARD
Trent had gotten a tip that Alice was at a hospital. Gabi and Alice’s family head over, but Alice had left. She was hurt and no one knew where she was.
What we do know about Alice is that the journals were her fathers. She started having more breaks after he died, and was convinced that his former co-worker Kane was responsible for his death. She had needed someone to blame for his death.
They are able to find Alice at her fathers grave. She’s laying on it and says to Gabi that her Dad will protect her. I have to admit that I cried my eyes out at this scene. Grief is an overpowering thing. It’s something that they conveyed so beautifully in this moment and it’s something that you could not be affected by watching. It was a moment that made me stop and want them to wrap Alice up in protection and love.
Later when we see Alice in the hospital, hugging her daughter, and explaining that she’s going to tell her everything when she’s out of the hospital, I cried some more. It was nice to see that Alice’s Mom wasn’t trying to hold a grudge or be angry at her daughter for what the past had brought them. She wanted to support her daughter and be there for her granddaughter.
I loved it.

THE BEACH
Margaret had been meant to meet her daughter for breakfast and never showed up. Taylor went to M&A to find her, but when she wasn’t there, everyone got more scared. Especially when they team tells her that day is Jamies birthday.
Margaret is broken, but I don’t believe that it’s because of Gabi. I believe that Gabi was a final straw, but that Margaret has been feeling this broken for awhile. She can’t forgive herself for what happened to Jamie and she can’t let go of that guilt. She had told Jamie to give her a break, when all he wanted was her attention.
Dhan remembers that she talked about going to the beach – that was where she was happiest with her kids. He headed there and found her. She admitted how she felt and she did want to take her life. However, Dhan tells her that if she does it, he’s going with her. He can’t live without any of them.
Seeing Margaret be pulled back because she was needed and loved, was a moment that made me cry again. But it was when Taylor and Ethan showed up, that I completely lost it. Margaret needed to see that she’s worthy of forgiveness and getting that unconditional love from her daughter was everything to her.
I think that Margaret will be okay, but she does need to get some help and take some time for herself. She needs to get some help and I am thankful that she’s going to get it.

SIR AND ZEKE
We all know that Zeke can’t leave his home. Stevie had been at his house and he was keeping her safe. She falls asleep and there is a knock at the door. I don’t think that anyone expected it to be Sir on the other side of the door.
I loved that Zeke was fearless, even though he was probably afraid. He starts swinging a bat and before you know it – he’s outside his door. Sir keeps mumbling about how he’s going to fix him and he’s going to fix them all.
When Zeke realizes that he was outside his house, he passes out. He’s never going to say that things aren’t okay, but you can tell that he’s rattled.
Zeke needs to protect himself – after all the police are charging him. This is not going to stop him though – he wants to know what was in the letter that the police found. The one that Sir had written to Gabi.
We don’t know what it says, but Zeke had found it. He emailed it to Gabi and before we know it we see her show up at a high school with brass knuckles. Sirs voice is over the loudspeaker, “Hello Gabrielle.”
I don’t mind that it was left on a cliffhanger. I actually love that it was. With Found, cliffhangers always mean a question of some sort will be answered. Yes, we may have 500 more questions from that one answer, but I will take it.
