Watson is CBS‘s new big show coming midseason. How do we know? It’s not just because it stars Morris Chestnut, though that’s a big sign—and a big draw. It’s also because the show will be premiering after the AFC Championship Game. If you want to launch a show the right way, you give it the spot after a big NFL game. And since CBS doesn’t have the rights to the Super Bowl in 2025, there’s no NFL bigger than the AFC Championship Game.
But if you add to that the fact that this show carries a big name, Watson, and an actor like Chestnut? Yeah, this is the big bet. And it sure sounds like a winner to us. We’ll admit we always kinda liked Watson more than Holmes. He was always easier to relate to. But also, a show about Watson—even a modern one—will probably find a way to bring in a version of Holmes, even if just in flashbacks. And also, perhaps, some other classic Sherlock Holmes names. So that’s interesting.
The show also stars Eve Harlow, Peter Mark Kendall, Ritchie Coster, Inga Schlingmann, and Rochelle Aytes. It’s an interesting cast, to say the least. And interesting premise, too. Color us intrigued.
Here’s everything we know about the show so far.

Synopsis
Here is the synopsis for the show:
WATSON takes place six months after the death of the titular character’s friend and partner Sherlock Holmes at the hands of Moriarty. The show stars Morris Chestnut as Dr. John Watson, who resumes his medical career as the head of a clinic dedicated to treating rare disorders. Watson’s old life isn’t done with him, though – Moriarty and Watson are set to write their own chapter of a story that has fascinated audiences for more than a century. Watson is a medical show with a strong investigative spine, featuring a modern version of one of history’s greatest detectives as he turns his attention from solving crimes to solving medical mysteries.
