In the clip below, we meet 9-year-old Jay Thompson (Leo Easton Kelly), whose older sister never came home last night. A missing sister is bad enough, but as you’ll see, that’s not Jay’s only concern — his sister is the only person he has after they both lost their parents last year.
Captain Benson offers to find someone to come take care of the boy, but all he wants to know is who’s going to take care of his sister. So, of course, Liv promises she’ll do that, too. It makes sense, based on what little information we have about the case. But also, can this woman ever give herself a break and stop trying to save the whole world? We’re guessing not. Since the clip opens with Velasco claiming his 20 stated overtime hours for last week are “all legit,” we very much wonder how many hours Benson’s clocking. But that’s probably a conversation for another time…
