There are some characters that become a part of your being and Legally Blonde’s Elle Woods is definitely one of those characters.
We’ve been looking forward to the casting of Elle Woods in the prequel for quite some time. Well, ever since last September when Reese Witherspoon posted on her Instagram about the casting.
She captioned the video, “Our search for the high school version of Elle Woods is officially ON! 💖✨ With our friends @primevideo we’re making the casting process totally OPEN, so you can submit your auditions at the link in my bio… I’m SO excited to see all your fabulous takes on everyone’s favorite Gemini vegetarian! 💕👛🌟🎀”
The prequel is said to be about, “the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman we came to know and love in the first Legally Blonde film.”
It got even more exciting when Reese Witherspoon made an announcement on the prequels casting via her social media today.
Lexi Minetree has been cast as Elle Woods, pre-Harvard years. Reese captioned the post, “Allow me to introduce you to the new Elle Woods! After watching so many incredible auditions for the new Elle prequel series on @PrimeVideo, we finally found our Elle. And today, I got to break the news myself! Meet @leximinetree 💕🌟💅🏼”
“We had to make a really hard decision the other day and we wanted to tell you in person because you’ve just worked really hard. And we just wanted to tell you that you don’t have to audition anymore because you got the part. You’re Elle Woods,” Witherspoon said in the video.
