The Buccaneers are back! Apple TV+ has released the first teaser for the acclaimed drama’s highly-anticipated second season. The Buccaneers’s new season will reunite Kristine Frøseth as Nan St. George, Alisha Boe as Conchita Closson, Lizzy Elmsworth, Josie Totah as Mabel Elmsworth, and Imogen Waterhouse as Jinny St. George – the Buccaneers themselves. The series returns on Wednesday, June 18, on Apple TV+. The eight-episode season will unfold with one new episode every Wednesday through August 6, 2025.
The Buccaneers is inspired by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Edith Wharton’s unfinished novel of the same name. Apple TV+ renewed the series for a second season less than a week after The Buccaneers Season 1, Episode 8, “Wedding of the Season,” premiered. The season finale saw Guy Thwarte assist Nan, Conchita, Lizzy, and Mabel in rescuing Nan’s sister Jinny from an abusive marriage. Nan married on-and-off again romantic partner Theo, Duke of Tintagel, to maintain security for her and her sister, who left London accompanied by Guy, who Nan loves. On top of that, Nan’s biological mother, whom she has never met, is in the church – at her wedding.

The show’s second season will also see the return of Emmy Award-nominee Christina Hendricks as Mrs. St. George, Mia Threapleton as Honoria Mable, Guy Remmers as Theo, Duke of Tintagel, Matthew Broome as Guy Thwarte, Josh Dylan as Lord Richard Marable, and Barney Fishwick as Lord James Seadown. The Buccaneers’ Season 2 first teaser doesn’t reveal much about what’s next for the characters, but it does feature two viral lines from the first season. Theo’s “She chose me” and Guy’s “Did she?” are all over TikTok. Now, it’s the only dialogue in the show’s latest teaser. It doesn’t feel like that love triangle is going anywhere.
Alternatively, the photos reveal a bit more – mainly about Season 2’s first episode. It looks like The Buccaneers will pick up where “Wedding of the Season” leaves off. Everyone is still in their wedding attire in most photos. Meanwhile, it seems like the season premiere will see Guy and Jinny settle into their new normal away from their loved ones. That new reality looks to include a new character – Grace Ambrose’s Paloma Ballardino, one of the season’s newcomers. The Buccaneers Season 2 will also welcome Greg Wise as Reede Robinson, Jacob Ifan as Hector Robinson, and Maria Almeida as Cora Merrigan.
The Buccaneers Season 2 photos also reveal a second look at Leighton Meester’s character. Apple TV+ has revealed that Meester will be playing Nell but hasn’t revealed any details beyond her name. The first look at Meester’s role came in an Instagram video in October 2024. The video inspired speculation about who Meester will portray, including the possibility of Meester playing Nan’s biological mother. Fans will likely have to wait until The Buccaneers premieres in June to know more about Meester’s Nell.

For now, Apple TV+ has revealed that Nan and Conchita have power and influence in their new, respective roles, and Jinny is wanted for kidnapping her unborn child. The Buccaneers Season 2 is going to be one to remember. Find out more about the upcoming season by reading the following synopsis:
In the first season of “The Buccaneers,” a group of fun-loving young American girls exploded into the tightly corseted London of the 1870s…setting hearts racing and kicking off an Anglo-American culture clash. Now the Buccaneers are no longer the invaders – England is their home. In fact they’re practically running the place. Nan is the Duchess of Tintagel, the most influential woman in the country. Conchita is Lady Brightlingsea, heroine to a wave of young American heiresses. And Jinny is on every front-page, wanted for the kidnap of her unborn child. All of the girls have been forced to grow up and now have to fight to be heard, as they wrestle with romance, lust, jealousy, births and deaths… themes consuming all women of any age, no matter what year it is. Last time we got a taste of England. This time we’re in for a veritable feast.
