The Irrational is back with an all-new, action-packed episode. Episode 18, ‘The Exchange, ‘ focuses on a prisoner exchange and potential espionage. But that’s not all. We get more insight into Marissa’s past and the development of her relationship with Cam, her son.
In the clip below, we see Marissa reliving a flashback of her colleague, someone she cared about deeply, which Cam picks up on instantaneously. While it takes Marissa a moment, she returns to reality and grounds herself. It’s a testament to the work Marissa has put into processing and healing much of her life’s trauma. It’s also heartbreaking to see another piece of Marissa’s past be filled with grief.
Cam even offers her some sage advice: Despite her processing, sometimes change is the best way to move forward. Marissa considers the possibility of moving, but will she take the plunge? She is unsure. Despite the painful memory, Marissa takes Cam’s advice well, and their positive development seems credited to the open lines of communication (and breakfast).
We look forward to seeing this mother-son bond continue to develop and how Marissa manages her past. Furthermore, it’ll be interesting to see how Alec’s case intertwines with how Marissa handles her journey in this upcoming episode.
