What We Know About I Know What You Did Last Summer
The I Know What You Did Last Summer universe returns to the big screen with a new sequel directed by Jenn Kaytin Robinson, which promises to continue the franchise’s horror legacy. Joshua Orpin, known for his role in Titans, is the latest addition to the film’s cast.
In addition to Joshua Orpin, the cast features a mix of franchise veterans and new faces. Returning actors include Jennifer Love Hewitt as Julie James and Freddie Prinze Jr. as Ray Bronson, who played the main characters in the original 1997 film and are now reprising their roles.
The new cast is led by Madelyn Cline, known for her work on Outer Banks. Chase Sui Wonders and Sarah Pidgeon also join the cast, playing new characters who will find themselves caught up in the killer’s dangerous game. Joining them are Tyriq Withers, Jonah Hauer-King—whom we’ve loved since we saw him in The Little Mermaid—and Lola Tung—who we all recognize from The Summer I Turned Pretty—who round out the cast with key roles.
I Know What You Did Last Summer also features Nicholas Alexander Chavez of Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story and Austin Nichols. Gabbriette Bechtel, a debuting actress, will also have a prominent role in what could be the film that launches her to fame.

What is the Movie About?
In I Know What You Did Last Summer, when five friends (Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers and Sarah Pidgeon) inadvertently cause a deadly car accident, they cover up their involvement and make a pact to keep it a secret rather than face the consequences. A year later, their past comes back to haunt them and they’re forced to confront a horrifying truth: someone knows what they did last summer…and is hell-bent on revenge.
As one by one the friends are stalked by a killer, they discover this has happened before, and they turn to two survivors (Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr.) of the legendary Southport Massacre of 1997 for help. Thus, this sequel will maintain the essence of the original but with a modern twist.
