As much as we sometimes think that Drew Barrymore’s talk show is a little overwhelming, we still watch it. We watch it because we know that she’s going to have the best guests on, and she’s definitely a certified fangirl. Drew Barrymore is relatable.
The talk show host/actor had the cast of the Hulu show, Mid-Century Modern, on her show, and let’s just say that things took a turn that no one really saw coming. The cast includes Nathan Lane, Nathan Lee Graham, and Matt Bomer.
Barrymore introduced them, and when she did, things took a turn that we didn’t see coming. A lot of times, guests greet the talk show host with a hug, but Bomer took a different approach.
When Bomer approached Barrymore, he asked, “I mean, should we kiss?”
I don’t know anyone who would say no to that. Barrymore wiped her mouth and said, “It’s the only action that I get. And I just ate cacio e pepe!”
Bomer responded, “Same, by the way. I’ve been married for years, so same.”
When the two kissed, Barrymore fell to the ground. It wasn’t the first time that the two had kissed. Back in 2023, the actor was promoting his Showtime show, Fellow Travelers. The cuties locked lips then also.
If you haven’t heard of Mid-Century Modern, it comes from the creators of Will & Grace, Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, executive producer Ryan Murphy, and director James Burrows comes a comedy about chosen family. Starring executive producers Nathan Lane and Matt Bomer as well as Nathan Lee Graham, and Linda Lavin, this series follows three gay best friends who, after an unexpected death, decide to embrace their golden years together in sun-soaked Palm Springs where the wealthiest one lives with his mother.
The show has been billed on Twitter as the male version of The Golden Girls. We’re excited to watch.
Mid-Century Modern’s first season is streaming now on Hulu.
