Suits LA Season 1 Episode 9 ‘Bat Signal’ just gave us a huge update on Darvey — Donna Paulsen and Harvey Specter are parents! They have a son. We win. But we can’t just call the kid “Darvey’s Son,” can we? Our guess is no. So, what, exactly, is his name? Much like with the can opener ritual, it looks like this one’s out there for us to figure out for ourselves. Talk about fascinating — we can’t wait for the fics!
…and also annoying.
In the episode, Harvey messes with Ted and temporarily gets him to believe he named his son after him. But without dragging the spinoff that gave us this precious little bundle of joy too much (more), let’s just say that’s a no from us. Seriously, there’s about zero logic to that “sincere” moment being anything other than a fake out. And we know Harvey’s more than capable of those because he joked on Mike a lot back in the day. So, let’s brainstorm just a few options for a name for Donna Paulsen and Harvey Specter’s son that will mean something.
MORE: Darvey recently had a big anniversary. Yeah, we were super skeptical about Suits LA at first, but you know we were always going to watch for Gabriel Macht.
What should Darvey’s son’s name be

Earlier in the scene where Ted says he knows Harvey’s been texting his son, Harvey confesses that his brother Marcus died a few years ago. It’s a really sweet tribute to Billy Miller, who played Marcus and actually died in 2023. Unlike Miller’s real-life cause of death, Harvey mentions his brother died of cancer. This is something that lines up perfectly with existing Suits canon because we know Marcus has had cancer, and it it has recurred, before. (Just watch the series’ all-time best episode, ‘The Painting’ for proof.) So, maybe talking about Marcus’ fate at the same time as Ted asks about My Boy’s name is a clue. Then again, would Darvey’s son be able to text Daddy!Harvey and even punctuate “Daddy, when are you going to call?” properly if he was born after Marcus’ death? Probably not.
Of course, maybe Mommy helped him send the text. Donna is Mommy. Harvey is Daddy. OMG. Is this real life????
Anyway.
If the timelines don’t quite add up for Darvey’s son to be named after Marcus — which, meh. When have timelines ever added up in the Suits universe, anyway? 12* years, anyone? — there’s another very obvious choice. Everyone knows how important Harvey’s dad was to him, including how he spent years doing work for Vic on a “side tab” to keep Gordon’s legacy alive. So, perhaps the Darvey baby is named after the grandfather he’ll never get to meet. It would even explain Harvey playing it close to the vest because there’s a lot of that family history that he didn’t tend to exactly be the most open about. Not with anyone other than his wife, of course.
Or, if we want something a little bit less depressing, we could also go meta. Gabriel’s a great name. It’s also one that requires zero explanation. No Gabriel Macht, no Harvey Specter. Just saying. Or, to go back into the fictional world, there’s always Rick Sorkin. Without him failing to show up for that interview all those years ago, imagine how different Harvey and Donna’s lives might be.
Sidebar: Ted’s whole “but if you ever need another brother” thing is sweet if you don’t think about Suits‘ built-in family. Because, like, hi. Literally, Mike Ross and Louis Litt both exist. Hm. Come to think of it, there’s a name Harvey wouldn’t want to share with people from within that same universe — maybe Darvey’s son is named after Uncle Louis. Imagine how that conversation could’ve gone…
Or! Since the episode where we learn about Donna and Harvey having a son is called ‘Bat Signal,’ and Harvey Specter is The Batman of the Suits universe, why not go there? We didn’t think Donna would let him name his son Bruce Wayne Specter, especially considering what happens to Bruce’s parents. So, what about going a little deeper into comic nerd lore? Imagine naming Baby Specter after Bruce Wayne’s actual son, Damian. That would also make him the new Robin, once Daddy (!!! never getting over it !!!) raises him right. Oh, sh—…

Suits LA airs Sundays at 9/8c on NBC, or you can stream Suits on Peacock.
I always think about william specter.
I was about to say that had a nice ring to it, but then my brain randomly jumped to William Sutter and ruined it for me. 🙁
I thought of Devin Specter.
Interesting! Why that name?
There’s something full-circle about the idea of their son’s name beginning with D—like a quiet homage to Donna, but also a name that stands strong on its own. It felt right. I do also think their son having middle name that starts with R, lol. After all, Donna and Harvey’s middle names start with the initial R.
Oh, I really like this!
