If you’ve watched The Four Seasons on Netflix and thought, “Wait—can I book a trip there?” you’re not alone. The miniseries may be a masterclass in comedic drama starring Steve Carell, Tina Fey, Will Forte, and Erika Henningsen. But it’s also a visual love letter to vacationing through the seasons.
From New York’s snow-covered hills to Puerto Rico’s green beaches, the show doesn’t merely grasp emotion, but wanderlust in a bottle.
Like The White Lotus, The Four Seasons allows its characters to unwind against breathtaking scenery. But this isn’t about a luxury hotel brand: it’s about actual seasonal escapes, and each one is carefully curated.
According to co-creator Tracey Wigfield, shooting across the U.S. and Puerto Rico wasn’t easy: “It was VFX too, but it was just a lot of work behind the scenes. (…) But it all worked because we had a really talented crew,” she told Awards Radar.
Translation? These locations were worth every logistical headache.
Hudson Valley and more filming spots for The Four Seasons

The bulk of the show was filmed across three counties in New York’s scenic Hudson Valley: Orange, Putnam, and Dutchess. Winter? That’s the picturesque Mount Peter in Warwick, where Steve Carell’s Nick finds himself literally and metaphorically on thin ice. Orange County Tourism confirmed that skiing scenes were captured there, while indoor moments were shot at Newburgh’s Umbra Sound Stages—Hollywood-level sets just north of NYC.
Dutchess County steals the show in spring and fall.
In Beacon, fans may spot familiar streets like Main and Churchill. Plus, the Yankee Clipper Diner, where Fey and Carell were seen filming. Poughkeepsie and Vassar College lend intellectual charm, while Fishkill and Hopewell Junction bring cozy suburbia to life.
Then there’s Putnam Valley, nicknamed the “Town of Lakes,” which offered peaceful vistas like Lake Oscawana. The village of Cold Spring, often used for idyllic getaways, also appeared, and Glynwood Farm doubled as the Lucy Flucker Knox Inn. This was a charming Easter egg for New Yorkers.
And yes, while much of the production stayed on the East Coast, some indoor shoots ventured west to Los Angeles for studio-level sparkle.
Puerto Rico’s summer, and hello, heat waves!

Summer comes blazing in Puerto Rico, and The Four Seasons delivers all the island magic. The cast stayed at El Conquistador Resort in Fajardo, perched on a 300-foot cliff with jaw-dropping ocean views.
“I had never been there, and being in the sweltering, beautiful heat with everybody, I think that was very special,” Tina Fey told Gold Derby. The resort also offers access to Palomino Island—aka paradise for rent.
For the eco-retreat chaos? That was filmed on Luquillo Beach, a favorite for locals and tourists alike. With the El Yunque National Forest nearby and kiosks serving fresh Puerto Rican street food, it’s the kind of place that tempts you to abandon all responsibilities.
And while these trips crack a friend group’s emotional baggage, they sure look good doing it.
