Sometimes we just know that something is going to be successful. We feel that deeply when it comes to Boston Blue, the Blue Bloods spin-off starring Donnie Wahlberg. It can be and should be really successful. We know that diehard Blockheads, as well as Blue Bloods fans, are going to watch.
At least we make that assumption.
We will say that we’re entranced and are enjoying all of the casting announcements. Marcus Scribner (black-ish) has been cast as a series regular on Boston Blue. He will be part of the Silver family.
In Boston Blue, Wahlberg reprises his role as Danny Reagan, but he’s taken a new position with the Boston Police Department. The Silver family is like the Reagans of Boston. They are law enforcement royalty in the city.
Scribner will be playing the youngest Silver. Jonah “carries himself with confidence and swagger” and is “frustrated at being a rookie cop ” and being “on the sidelines.”
Scribner is best known for his roles on Black-ish and its spinoff, grown-ish. The actor has long been known for comedy, so we’re excited to see him in a procedural.
Boston Blue is produced by CBS Studios in association with Jerry Bruckheimer TV. We’re excited and can’t wait to see where this show takes us. We’re looking forward to seeing Boston Blue this fall on CBS.
Scribner’s casting was first announced by Variety.
