The Fraser family legacy lives on and we’re not crying, you are. STARZ just announced that Outlander: Blood of My Blood has officially been renewed for a Season 2. All of this before we’ve even had the chance to meet its star-crossed lovers this summer. Talk about faith in the power of love!
More Epic Love Stories to Come
Even before we dive into the sweeping romance and historical drama, STARZ is doubling down on what it promises to be an epic new chapter.
“The passion and talent our cast and crew have poured into Outlander: Blood of my Blood has been extraordinary and we’re thrilled to continue these epic love stories in Season Two,” says showrunner and executive producer Matthew B. Roberts. “Just as audiences fell in love with Jamie and Claire, we hope viewers will be enamored by these new couples when they meet them this summer.” Trust us, we’re ready to fall — hard.
Set between the battlefields of World War I and the breathtaking Highlands of 18th-century Scotland, Blood of My Blood follows two parallel love stories. Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser. And Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine), the parents of Claire. If you’re doing the math, this is Jamie and Claire’s origin story. And it already hurts so good.
“The world of Outlander has captivated audiences with its sweeping storytelling and unforgettable characters,” added Kathryn Busby, President of Programming at STARZ. “With Blood of My Blood, we’ve expanded the universe in a way that honors the original, while charting bold new territory.”
It’s not just about nostalgia. While longtime fans are being rewarded with deep, emotional payoffs and new insights into their favorite characters, the series also invites newcomers into the fold with a fresh cast and stand-alone storytelling. So whether you’ve watched Jamie and Claire fall in love a dozen times or this is your first foray into the Outlander world — there’s room for you here.
And that Season 2 renewal? It comes just as production kicks off today in Scotland. On the very same stages where Outlander filmed for the past ten years. It’s giving full-circle feels, and we’re here for every second.
