If you loved The Martian, then Project Hail Mary is probably right up your alley. Not that we know all that much about the movie, which is based on the 2021 book by Andy Weir. The book centers on a school teacher who is sent into space to find a way to reverse a solar dimming event that could cause the extinction of life on Earth. You know, normal stuff for the author of The Martian.
The movie stars Ryan Gosling and Sandra Hüller. The screenplay is by Drew Goddard (his second Andy Weir adaptation), and Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are the directors.
We might not know much about what’s coming yet, but the trailer was released with the words “11.9 Light-years from home. 6th grade science teacher. 1 chance to save us all.” And of course, there is a trailer, which you can watch below. And while we wait for next year, we recommend reading the book. It might not have Ryan Gosling, but it’ll make the wait until the adaptation pass by so much faster. Plus, it’s just a really good book. We promise.
