A Chicago Med and Law & Order? Well, if Steven Weber gets his way, that’s exactly what we’ll have. And though we can’t say it’s something we’d thought about before, now that we’ve had time to ponder it for a minute, the truth is… we wouldn’t mind. We really, really wouldn’t.
Sounds far-fetched? Well, it isn’t really. The two shows are part of the Dick Wolf TV universe, and air on NBC. And though Law & Order usually keeps its crossovers to the franchise, and so does One Chicago, there is precedent. We have had Chicago P.D. & Chicago Fire and Law & Order: SVU crossovers. So, there’s no reason we couldn’t get this! Especially considering who’s championing the cause.
Yup, that’s right. Steven Weber just casually ran into Tony Goldwyn and then asked for the thing! And we’re here to support Dr. Dean Archer in this particular instance. And by we, I mean everyone! Weber added a poll to the post, and 98% of fans voted yes to a possible crossover. Are you listening, TPTB?
There are even good ideas for what could happen in this crossover episode in the comments to Weber’s post. “Medical malpractice episode!! ?!” one fan said. And where do we sign up for that? Come on, all the other One Chicago shows have done it. Why is Chicago Med the redheaded stepchild? Let them have some fun too! And by fun, we mean bringing Tony Goldwyn into another Dick Wolf universe show.
And okay, okay. It probably won’t actually happen. But a girl can dream, right? And agree with Stephen Weber while dreaming.
Are you excited for a new season of Law & Order and Chicago Med? What are you looking forward to the most?
Law & Order returns on Thursday, September 25th. Chicago Med, meanwhile, will premiere its new season on October 1st.
