Bruno is more than Enid’s latest love interest on Netflix’s Wednesday. So is the actor who’s playing him, Noah Taylor.
The Filipino NY-based actor is fresh off studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. And his role as Bruno, a jock werewolf that has caught the affections of our very own Enid Sinclair, is his big break when it comes to everything Hollywood.
“I was over in Scotland in acting school for two semesters and then I booked this job,” Taylor shared with Fangirlish during an exclusive interview about Season 2 Part 1. “And before acting school I’d done mainly like indie short films and I did a line in Law & Order.” This is why he was so excited for a chance to join the cast of Wednesday Season 2.

“I remember getting the audition and being like “There’s no way I’m going to get this, but I’m going to do my best,” Taylor said, knowing that this was a huge show with an amazing ensemble plenty of people were trying out for. “Then I got it. And from that first self tape I thought that Bruno was a really fascinating character to be able to play those levels and just the human aspect of it.”
But there’s no doubt that starting a new journey like this one is a bit scary, even if Taylor was sure about Bruno and saw himself in the character. There’s new people you’ve never worked with to worry about, filming locations that take you away from family, and the pressures of being on something so beloved like Wednesday with Jenna Ortega leading the charge.
Thankfully, everyone on the cast and crew of Wednesday Season 2 was really welcoming. “I really got thrown in the deep end working with some of the best people,” Taylor said, “They were so welcoming and I felt safe and supported and part of the team. I learned so much.”

One of the people that Taylor loved working with, and it’s easy to guess who, was Emma Myers who plays Enid. “She’s the best and made my life so easy. She so gives so much. And all I have to do is be present and sort of reflect what she’s giving. She’s just so professional.”
In Wednesday Season 2 Episode 2 Taylor’s Bruno shares an intense scene with Myers Enid. They’re both kidnapped by Wednesday’s newest stalker Agnes and in the middle of this dangerous situation, Bruno starts having a panic attack. Enid thankfully guides him through it, revealing that she’s also had panic attacks. And this small moment turns into a powerful moment about connection and how anyone can struggle with their mental health.
Taylor himself loved the scene and felt like it’s at the heart of a lot of what we see on Wednesday as a whole. “I think one of the main themes of the show as a whole is the universal theme of feeling like an outsider and not feeling included,” Taylor explained. Because Bruno might come off as this stereotypical confident jock who just so happens to play the guitar and sing. But that moment where they were kidnapped gets to him and he feels like an outsider to something bigger than himself.
That’s why Bruno panicked in what Taylor also revealed was his audition scene for Wednesday.

“Bruno comes off very confident and like he’s got everything together. And it’s this moment of vulnerability and showing him opening up to somebody and being like, “I can’t. This is crazy. I can’t handle this,” Taylor said before closing off with, “It’s that moment of connection and support between two people.” And from what we’ve seen from the rest of the scenes between Enid and Bruno, they’ve formed a bond.
When we asked about what comes next for Enid, for Bruno, or just Wednesday in general, Taylor was pretty tight lipped. So to end this interview we pivoted to music. Because during Wednesday Season 2 Episode 2 we see him playing a guitar. And that wasn’t just a prop. Taylor is a talented musician who releases music with his brother under their indie project One Minute Friend.
When Fangirlish asked Taylor about his music, he made it clear that no matter what happens with his acting career, music will always be something he’ll do. “It’s more something I see as my own personal art. And if it blows up and people want to listen to it, that’s amazing. But if it doesn’t and it’s just, you know, like my art projects that I’m putting out, I’m totally happy with that as well.”
Here’s hoping both Noah Taylor’s career in acting and music blow up when Wednesday returns for Part 2 on September 3rd on Netflix.
Wednesday Season 2 episodes 1 through 4 are available on Netflix.
