Natalie Dormer is back on our screens! Since she won our hearts on Game of Thrones, we miss her every time she’s not on our TVs. But that’s about to change thanks to Netflix and Extraction. And we have all the details!
Netflix just announced that Dormer will star in the new series set in the Extraction universe. Extraction is one of the most successful Netflix film franchises. 90 million of users watched the film in its first 4 weeks, quickly becoming Netflix’s biggest-ever film premiere. The second film debuted at #1 on the Global Top 10 Movies List. It spent 7 weeks in that list, racking up 123.3M views. With that success, it’s only logical that the streaming service would want to try its hand at a series set in the same universe.
In the series, Dormer will share the credits with a top-notch cast led by Omar Sy and Boyd Holbrook. The series has its own name behind the cameras: Glen Mazzara. He, whom we already know from one of our favorite shows, AKA The Walking Dead, will serve as writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Mazzara will share the executive producer chair with Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes, and Chris Castaldi for AGBO, Sam Hargrave, Eric Gitter, and Peter Schwerin.
The series will consist of eight episodes. And, although it doesn’t yet have an official title, it does have a synopsis. Thus, the show will be about “a mercenary (Omar Sy) embarks on a dangerous mission to rescue hostages in Libya. Trapped between warring factions and ruthless killers, he must navigate life-or-death choices while confronting deep emotional wounds. The series explores the trauma, betrayal, and moral conflicts of characters pushed to the edge.”
The synopsis sounds too interesting to miss, so we can’t wait to watch this show!
The Extraction series will premiere soon on Netflix.
