December 18th can’t get here fast enough. Waiting on the edge of our seats to see what happens next and if Emily in Paris will turn into Emily in Rome. Which, if we’re being honest, wouldn’t be upset over Rome.
Netflix has released a first look at season 5 of the hit show and we’re intrigued.
The synopsis for the fifth season reads, “Now the head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city. But just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks. Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle, until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships. Tackling conflict with honesty, Emily emerges with deeper connections, renewed clarity, and a readiness to embrace new possibilities.”
Emily is full of inspiration. She’s found herself embracing all aspects of her life and figuring out who she is. What we need to know is who she ends up with, because though this writer is Team Alfie, I do think that Marcello is good and who she needs to be with.
Darren Star, the creator of Emily in Paris said, of that relationship, “I feel like they have a real spark and a real connection and a real romantic connection. A lot of that’s going to continue to play out next season.”
Just don’t let her be with Gabriel. That man needs to learn and get his stuff together.
This season we have new characters – which adds to the dynamic and we love that. According to Tudum, “Bryan Greenberg (Junction, Suits LA) plays Jake, an American living in Paris. Michèle Laroque (Brillantissime) plays Yvette, an old friend of Sylvie’s. Academy Award–nominated actor Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting, Will & Grace) plays Princess Jane, a friend of Sylvie’s who married into a royal family.”
Emily in Paris Season 4 ranked No. 1 on the Netflix Global Top 10 when it premiered in August. It had 19.9 million views in its first four days, reaching the Top 10 in 93 countries, and has remained on the list for four consecutive weeks since.
