I need a weekend at a spa – desperately. But after watching this episode of UPLOAD, I think I will just do one at home. I know that I am watching a television show and that everything doesn’t happen in real life. BUT, the spa in this week’s episode scared me.
What didn’t scare me? Well, that would be all of the support that Nathan has in his life. There are all these people – living and deceased – that want to protect him. They want to see his happiness.
But as we come closer and closer to the end of the series, I think that something big is going to happen with the last episode, and hopefully they will bring down all of the billionaires causing issues.
HONEYMOON
Nathan and Nora are on their honeymoon in Apple Cove. I say this with love – I adore a Mac, but if Apple is going to build an AI island getaway and then try to upload my brain or do experiments on me? I would totally convert to a PC.
They are doing so many tests on him – this is his 127th scan – which explains why he’s so tired.
Fake Nathan and Ingrid don’t know that where they are is where all of the bad things are happening. They are just enjoying their honeymoon and spending time together.
But is that enough? Nope. These two may not get it, but I think that we all know that either version of Nathan – his feelings are all over the place. He’s enjoying his time with Ingrid, though, and their conversations on the beach – this version really does like the her that he’s with.
Having the Nathan dupe close is giving the people experimenting on Nathan can’t do their job. The computer won’t let them.
ANIMAL CROSSING
To the one “scientist” who said that they need to move to animal testing – I am giving you the middle finger. You are in the wrong, sir. How you are acting is unacceptable.
Nathan at first thinks that means that he’s going to have a break. Little does he know that they mean that they are going to download his brain into a black bear. This is some weird stuff.
They have to wait for the bear to show up, and that means lunch. One person is told to stay, and Nathan is lucky enough that this dude can be easily manipulated. Nathan wants to see his memories with Nora, and while the two are watching them, he’s filled with love for Nora. He asks, kindly, for just the memories with Nora.
But he’s given them all. And the guy lets him go free. Nathan is free. I repeat. Nathan is free.
But the question is – what is going to happen next?
OLD BILLIONAIRE
I love that Norma is optimistic all the time and believes that he can and will get Nathan back. It’s not that I don’t believe that she will, but I do think that she’s reckless sometimes.
She makes an offer – David Choak for Nathan. But when they set up for the exchange, she doesn’t even bother to ask them to take the bag off Nathan’s head. Pretty sure that is prisoner exchange 101.
She hands over David and the billionaire’s head towards their car. They are thrilled to have their friend back.
This episode just really reminds me that people with money don’t get it. They spend all this time thinking that their money makes them better than all of us, but that’s not true. That’s the furthest thing from it.
As the police arrive, they throw Choak like he asked. They try to take off, but the police arrest them.
When Nora takes off the covering of “Nathan’s” face, it’s one of their security people. Yes, I stood up and cheered as Aleesha took him. She’s the best spy ever. As she takes the dude down, I recall why it is that this show has been so good. It keeps you on your toes.
You don’t know what is going to happen next.
As everyone leaves, real Nathan is right there. He’s able to take the empty car and escape. He’s very happy that he’s got a way to get to Nora.
As the episode ends, there is a knock on the door of Aleesha’s apartment. As she opens the door, she’s as shocked as all of us.
“Where’s Nora?” real Nathan asks as he enters the apartment. He’s back.
But with one more episode to go, what happens next? We’re not sure.
