9-1-1: Nashville Season 1 Episode 6 “Good Southern Manors” sees explosive problems at a distillery just as problems arrive at home.
After the events of Season 1 Episode 5, it looks like the problems with Blue are being put on the backburner. Why? Because Blythe’s dad is in town. Tim Matheson, who plays a loving father figure on Virgin River, is playing Edward. He’s a bit different from his Netflix character and is seen in the promo yelling at Don. And the photos add to the narrative that he doesn’t like his son in law too much.
We can only speculate as to why Edward hates Don, but there’s no doubt it’s going to have to do with money. So far the show has been hammering on and on about the way that Blue Bennings was poor in comparison to his brother. And with Don relating to Blue, it’s no doubt that Don didn’t come from much. Edward, looking like he’s from old money, probably isn’t too happy with that.
On the emergency front, the crew is trying to prevent a distillery explosion. According to OSHA, the primary hazards in distilling is fire and explosion. They also say that “Fire can occur when vapors from flammable organic compounds such as ethanol are released from leaks in tanks, casks, and equipment such as transfer pumps, pipes, and flexible hoses.” So if you thought this emergency was ridiculous, it’s not. And a new fear has been unlocked for those who love wines or spirits.
When it comes to the call center of it all, it seems like Cammie is finally getting some action. In comparison to her 9-1-1 counterpart Maddie, Cammie really hasn’t provided the same emotional depth or range. Basically, as a viewer, I don’t care about the call center or anyone there. But maybe having Cammie face some challenges at the call center can give her an opportunity to stand out on her own and make viewers care.
