A kiss can make or break a moment, TV episode, or movie. It’s where two people come together to express their love, maybe even a little passion, or the beginning of something dangerous and new. And it sticks with the viewer long after they’re done watching because of the chemistry between the actors, the cinematography, and even what it means for the development of the characters.
Luckily all the kisses on this list fall under the category of best movie kisses of 2025. Of course, we’ve got the likes of the heroic Clark and Lois kiss from James Gunn’s Superman. And we’ve got some kisses from horror movies, a little bit of drama, and even a little bit of sci-fi. Basically, this isn’t your every day best movie kisses lists straight out of a pool of romcoms. Because great kisses, they’re in every genre.
1. Clark and Lois, Superman
In the middle of all the chaos going down in Metropolis, this kiss says a lot about Clark and Lois. Because it isn’t just a victory kiss because the bad guy was taken down. This is a “hello” kiss. A kiss that says, “I’m happy you’re ok, safe, and in my arms.” It’s also a kiss that grounds both of them, reaffirming their commitment to each other as lovers, friends, and superheroes at each other’s side.
2. Elphaba and Fiyero, Wicked: For Good
While everyone’s talking about the sex cardigan that Elphaba wore in Wicked: For Good, I want to talk about the kisses. Because I knew that it was going to be the moment for this couple. But I didn’t expect it to be so tender and for these to honestly have the best chemistry on this list. I’m the fool though because it’s Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey. Of course, the kiss in her hideaway would be a defining moment for these two.

3. Drasa and Levi, The Gorge
The Gorge is hands down the most underrated movie of 2025. Read my review if you don’t believe me. It’s a romance smashed together with sci-fi, action, and a thriller. And it’s made all the better by the chemistry between Drasa and Levi. When they finally meet, they gave us the most romantic slow burn first dance to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs “Spitting Off the Edge of the World.” The tension grows and grows until they seal their bond and fate with a kiss.
4. Joan and Larry, Eternity
Miles Teller ended up on this list twice for a reason. His Larry to Elizabeth Olsen’s Joan weren’t meant to be. But they chose each other. Maybe not all the time. But when it mattered, they chose making the other happy, even if it wasn’t with each other. And they tried, fixed their mistakes, and broke the rules of the afterlife for each other. In the midst of that there was a kiss Joan and Larry shared in front of her room, one where he made it clear that it didn’t matter where they went. As long as they were together, he was happy. And that’s what ended up happening.
5. Ally and Jay, Heart Eyes
You wouldn’t expected a horror movie to have a show stopping kiss. But here Heart Eyes is, a movie about a serial killer going after couples on Valentine’s Day. Smack dab in the middle of are Ally and Jay, two people who find each other at the oddest time and somehow stick together even though they’re facing literal death around every corner. And it was this kiss that jumpstarted it all.
6. Naveen and Jay, A Nice Indian Boy
Even though A Nice Indian Boy came out in 2024, it technically didn’t hit theaters until 2025. So it made it onto our list. And honestly, if we’re going to technically cheat in including this, I have no problem including all the kisses in this movie for best kiss of 2025. The kisses come during different stages of their relationship; the tentative beginning, the blossoming hope of something beautiful, and even into the hard times. But they all make you believe that if love is real, it looks like this.
7. Muriel and Sandra, On Swift Horses
While the pick above this one is all about love… the kiss between Muriel and Sandra is all about exploration. Muriel is stuck in a relationship she’s not too happy about in On Swift Horses. And Sandra is living the kind of life she wants, no matter what. The kiss they share is one of exhilaration, exploration, and conquest tied up in freeing oneself. And even though it’s a bit toxic and doesn’t end well, it happened. It changed them.
8. Lucy and John, The Materialists
Whether you liked Lucy and John ending up together or not, The Materialists had everyone talking this past year. It opened up a conversation about whether this movie was a rom-com or not and if we’re past the “broke love interest cuz love” narrative that movies like to tote around. But this movie had hot people, Pedro Pascal, and a couple who chose each other, despite the problems and ups and down. All together, it worked. And they sealed it with a kiss and then a proposal in Central Park.
