MORE: What’s Next for Chenford in The Rookie Season 8?
The Plot:
The official synopsis for The Rookie Season 8 is “John Nolan, once the oldest rookie in the LAPD, now uses his life experience, determination and sense of humor to keep up with rookies 20+ years his junior. John and the team must navigate the intense, unpredictable nature of their jobs and personal challenges, while uplifting the next generation of first responders.”
And, as announced at SDCC, the team, John and Bailey, are moving to Prague. They’re on a mission to catch Oscar with the help of Monica, our not-so-favorite lawyer. And we hope they succeed and we can move on, honestly. That said, we don’t quite understand Bailey’s presence in a police operation, but we hope the show will explain it.
In addition to this, this season will be key for Chenford. At the end of season 7, Tim opened his heart…while Lucy was asleep. Now that they’re both sergeants and have conflicting shifts, they need to have that conversation once and for all—with both of them awake this time—and work from there.

The Promo:
Here’s the trailer for The Rookie Season 8:
The trailer gets everything going! Of course, we take a trip to Prague with Monica, who still can’t be trusted. And, although Oscar is finally caught, it doesn’t seem like it’s over. Also, while Bailey and Nolan seem to be presenting a united front in Prague, a job offer at DC threatens to break that. If Nolan moves, it should start all over again.
Plus, did someone hurt Angela and Nyla? We’re ready to fight whoever it was! Lucy looks like she’s going undercover again on a dangerous case…and that brings us to Chenford. We see them for the first time in The Rookie Season 8. And it’s not very encouraging. Tim confesses to Lucy that he asked her to move in with him, but Lucy’s reaction is one of disbelief and anger. She’s still heartbroken and her wounds are still festering.
But we’re not worried at all. They’ll get there; they just need a little more time. We just hope the show explains Lucy’s feelings well because the last time we saw her, she didn’t seem to think that way. Finally, there’s also trouble in paradise for Grey and his marriage. And we really don’t like seeing everyone in the hospital…
And here’s the first teaser:
And we have a new teaser for the season! And we really need to know what Bailey does with a gun…
