Hero Fiennes Tiffin in a detective series? HELL YEAH! He already won us over in the After series, and we’re ready for a good crime investigation with him…or whatever (wink, wink). Young Sherlock, his new project, is going to tell the story of the early days of one of our all-time favorite detectives, so it’s a win-win for us.
We’ve seen every version of Sherlock Holmes that has hit our screens, so we’re intrigued by this twist of seeing him in his first adventure as a detective. Here’s everything we know about the show.
The show also features Dónal Finn—we love him in The Wheel of Time!—, Zine Tseng, Joseph Fiennes, Natascha McElhone, Max Irons, and Colin Firth. As for the team behind the scenes, Guy Ritchie directs and executive produces.
Young Sherlock is written and executive produced by showrunner Matthew Parkhill with executive producers Dhana Gilbert, Marc Resteghini, Simon Maxwell, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Kelton, Colin Wilson, and co-executive producers Harriet Creelman and Steve Thompson. Motive Pictures led physical production.

The Plot:
The official synopsis for Young Sherlock is: “the show follows the origin story of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s beloved detective in an explosive re-imagining of this iconic character’s early days. Sherlock Holmes is a disgraced young man – raw and unfiltered – when he finds himself wrapped up in a murder case that threatens his liberty. His first ever case unravels a globe-trotting conspiracy that changes his life forever. Unfolding in 1870s Oxford and adventuring abroad, the series will expose the early antics of the anarchic adolescent who is yet to evolve into Baker Street’s most renowned resident.”
