If you are like me, you have watched this season of Emily In Paris, and you find yourself wondering why so little Gabriel. Part of me does miss him, but a bigger part of me doesn’t. Whatever he’s been up to, he has a good tan.
But it is no surprise that we all want to know the whys. Why was his role reduced? Well, Emily in Paris, Director and executive producer Andrew Fleming, spoke with US WEEKLY, and he had some comments that give no answers.
Apparently, actor Lucas Bravo was shooting a movie at the time and had limited availability. It’s actually kind of nice that the show gave him the leeway to film a movie and be basically absent this season.
Andrew said, “He’s important. He’s part of the DNA of the show. When he and Emily are in a scene together, something undefinable happens. They have this chemistry. They do. There’s just something about the two of them that’s very watchable.”
Look, I don’t like Gabriel and Emily together. That being said, I know a lot of people do. I agree that they do. The issue for me is that their relationship seems sort of a round and round cycle of toxicity.
I said what I said.
He went on to say, “Looking ahead, they’re part of each other’s journey. Who is to say who Emily is going to end up with, but Emily and Gabriel are going to interact with each other. Stuff is going to happen [but] I really can’t say anything about what’s going to happen next season.”
That’s an answer that this writer doesn’t like BECAUSE I don’t like them together. Selfish, I know. I am selfish.
Season 5 of Emily In Paris is streaming now on Netflix.
