If you’re looking for one of those critics lists you are in the wrong place. We’re not here to be one of those. We’re here to talk about movies that we loved and the reasons that we loved them. Some of them were panned and some were praised. But if you’re looking for what is sometimes considered a hot mess, sometimes fantastic and judged by vibes – you’re in the right place.
We’re about fandom. Fandom vibes are different. Sure, we can appreciate the movies that critics are praising. But for us 2025 was a hot mess and a dumpster fire. We all lived through a lot of BS this year and by the time that December has rolled around all we cared about are the things that make us happy.
2025 changed us. It tested us in ways and it destroyed us in others. Sometimes entertainment was all that we had. Movies, music and television have been the only thing that at times that have gotten us through. We respect that.
And so for that reason we’re going by the vibes (in no particular order, cause its us and we don’t want to).
HAMNET

Synopsis: Hamnet tells the powerful story of love and loss that inspired the creation of Shakespeare’s timeless masterpiece, Hamlet.
Why We Loved It: Chloe Zong is an amazing director and this movie is absolutely beautiful. Though Shakespeare isn’t alway our cup of tea, but Paul Mescal always is. The performances by Jessie Buckley & Paul Mescal stuck with us. It’s definitely one of the best movies of 2025.

Synopsis: Best friends and roommates Dreux (Keke Palmer) and Alyssa (SZA) are about to have One of Them Days. When they discover Alyssa’s boyfriend has blown their rent money, the duo finds themselves going to extremes in a comical race against the clock…
Why We Loved It: Keke Palmer is so under rated sometimes and we think she deserves more praise. Her and Sza together had us laughing and wanting to hang out with our friends. We appreciated the escape and when we’re having One of them Days, we can’t wait to watch it again.

Why We Loved It: We kept telling ourselves that we wouldn’t fall for a YA franchise again – but we loved Culpa Mia and so were we going to watch the movie set in London? Yes please. Asha Banks and Matthew Broome have this electric angst and so after watching – we were hooked. This is one of those movies that we turn on when we want to escape and feel like we’re going to need things to go fast. What can we say, blame the Fast & Furious franchise for our need for speed. We can’t wait for the sequels.

We escape to the land of the vikings and dragons and we enjoy every single moment.

Behind the Winchesters’ closed doors lies a world of shocking twists that will leave you guessing until the very end.
Why We Loved It: It’s not all of the time that we will have nice things to say about an adaptation, but this one, we do. The books were page turners that kept us up at night to make sure that we figured out what happens. We read the three books in the series in 36 hours. Watching the movie, was it perfect? No. But did it transport us out of our world and excited us the same way the books did? Yes. That’s a win.

Why We Loved It: The entire My Fault series is a favorite of ours. The final movie in the trilogy was an escape with fantastic acting. It’s the pacing, the setting and the story that allows us to escape. We’ll be taking no questions at this time.
WAKE UP DEAD MAN
Release Date: November 26, 2025
Synopsis: A baffling death inside a quiet church draws Benoit Blanc into a tense investigation where faith secrets and suspicion blur as a close community turns against itself.

Why We Loved It: Sometimes you have to admit that you’ve never thought highly of anything that DC makes, but this one isn’t so bad. If you’ve read us for a bit you know that we don’t mind a superhero, but we don’t like the controversy that comes with loving or hating one. However, with this one – we don’t care. We watch it for the ship, the chaos, the action. And who wouldn’t think about David Corenswet as Superman and want to watch? He can save us anytime.
