Every time people figure out that Joe Keery from Stranger Things sings under the moniker Djo, the shocked Pikachu faces come out. They’ve listened to his music on Spotify or TikTok for ages and know the lyrics like the back of their hands. That seems to have happened again after his song “End of Beginning” ended up on the Top 100 hit list on Spotify. But he’s not the only cast member from Stranger Things that makes music. In fact, multiple cast members make music.
And while Millie Bobby Brown has released some videos of herself casually singing, Gaten Matarazzo was in the 2023 Broadway cast for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Sadie Sink was in the rock musical O’Dessa, and Charlie Heaton used to tour with his band, here are some Stranger Things actors who are have released albums or singles.
There’s Maya Hawke, who plays Steve’s bestie Robin. She’s released three albums, Moss in 2022, Blush in 2020, and Chaos Angel in 2024. Her sound is described as “anchored by acoustic guitar and Hawke’s graceful yet conversational vocals.”
Also Finn Wolfhard. He released music with his teenage band Calpurnia before pivoting and making “coming of age” music under The Aubreys. But that’s not all. Wolfhard also released solo music under his moniker Ziggy Katz. Now he just seems to be releasing music under his name with his recent album being titled Happy Birthday.
And Caleb McLaughlin. He hasn’t released as much music but his sound is honestly one of the best on this list and we need more. When speaking to BET, he said, “I do have a vision of where I want my music career to go, but now seeing it moving, it’s great because I’ve been waiting for this moment…”
Let’s not forget Jamie Campbell Bower aka Vecna himself. It’s kind of crazy that the actor who plays a great evil that can be defeated by music also makes music himself. His song has been noted by Billboard to infuse “religious imagery and references that coincidentally parallel the demonic character he plays on the show” into his music.
