We watch a lot of TV and movies! So yeah, we’re fangirling over a lot of things! Each week we come together to highlight all the feels they give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?
Here we go!
Best Scene of the Week

Raquel: The Morgadec scene in the latest episode of ABC’s High Potential! As I mentioned in my review, seeing Karadec comfort Morgan, be by her side, make it clear how much he values her but also give her the space she needs was beautiful. And perfect.
Shana: I’m absolutely going to have to go with the scene where Dr. Langdon takes care of Mel and also apologizes to her for letting her down in The Pitt Season 2 Episode 2. There’s something so very special about these two characters and whatever connection they made on their one and only shift together 10 months ago, and I’m so happy to see that it’s still there. Not only that, but the way Langdon takes accountability for how his actions let others down, even when Mel (angel that she is) tells him he never let her down, shows growth that I hope continues. I really just need everyone on that series, Taylor Dearden and Patrick Ball included, to keep up the stellar work.
Ashley T.: It’s got to be Darem teaching Caleb how to make his bed in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy season 1 episode 2 “Beta Test.” These guys have been at each other’s throats from the word “Go!” and seeing them make some kind of peace was very sweet.
Aracelis: I have to say Bree and Wrigley at the bus stop in Season 3, Episode 1 of Tell Me Lies. I really enjoyed this moment and am interested in seeing their relationship grow on a friendship level. I’ve always liked Wrigley, and it was nice to see him be vulnerable. Grief isn’t something that gets fixed by someone saying “it gets better”, because sometimes it doesn’t, and sometimes it gets worse. Bree acknowledging that made the scene feel real and emotionally impactful.
Ship of the Week

Raquel: It won’t surprise anyone, but Chenford! Watching them try to keep their distance at work but inevitably run into each other is what I’m here for! And Tim understanding what Lucy needed and not interfering was the chef’s kiss.
Jasmine: Even though Diana and Pippa are working my nerves because they won’t just allow themselves to be together, I loved their dorm room conversation and their kiss on Tell Me Lies. It was a sweet and honest moment. Granted they both still have their own private dramas to work through, but at least they did let each other know they haven’t forgotten about the other or their feelings.
Shana: What if I said The Pitt’s very own Huckleberry and Crash? (Yes, I’m reclaiming Santos’ mean nicknames for them and making them a positive here.) Not as anything romantic…just friends? I want Victoria Javadi to have a real, true, friend, ok???
Best Performance of the Week

Shana: I’m going to have to give another shoutout to Aimé Donna Kelly’s performance in SVU Season 27 Episode 10. Even though she always performs above and beyond whatever the storylines seem to expect of her, this week’s episode actually gave her something worthy of her talents. And wow, did she deliver. So very well done — I can’t say that enough. Perhaps the universe should stop robbing her, and us, of this. And, just saying, I bet she could do even more if the opportunity ever presented itself.
Ashley T.: I am absolutely in love with everything Holly Hunter is doing as Chancellor Nahla Ake in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. She is so different from any other lead we’ve had in any previous iteration of Star Trek! It’s so refreshing to have that change of pace. It’s also wonderful to hear a lady with a southern accent in the captain’s chair who isn’t the stereotypical unwashed, uneducated portrayal of those of us from the south. I am so eager to see what else she does this season!
Aracelis: I’m going to have to give it to Grace Van Patten. She plays Lucy on Tell Me Lies so well, Season 3 Episode 3 really solidified that for me. We’re seeing Lucy in an in between phase of her life, and Grace Van Patten is so emotionally in tune with the character. The scene where Lucy tells Stephen not to hurt Bree and agrees to do the recording so he won’t involve her was what really got me. It was overwhelming in the best way, not because I’d make the same choice (I absolutely would not, sorry Lucy), but because I felt exactly what she was feeling. This isn’t Season 2 Lucy, and it definitely isn’t 2015 Lucy, and you can tell in every emotional beat.
Lizzie: I’m not really happy with Severide this week, but I thought Chicago Fire’s Taylor Kinney delivered a really good performance. Kelly Severide isn’t a character who often gets to emote all that much, so to get him breaking down is stretching what Kinney normally has to do and I didn’t doubt for a second that Severide was really feeling this way. So, kudos to him, even if I still think he just needs to talk to his wife.
Moment that Annoyed Us This Week

KENNETH CHOI, OLIVER STARK, RYAN GUZMAN
Jasmine: I’m going with Lucy giving in to Stephen’s demands to record that video confession in Tell Me Lies 2×03. Stephen is the biggest douche on the planet. I understand Lucy doesn’t want to hurt Bree but honestly she should have told Stephen where he could go and then just told the truth! When will these people learn that even if the truth hurts, it’s still better to get it out! The entire scene disturbed me. I get that Lucy cheated with Evan but NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING is worth letting someone blackmail you. ESPECIALLY your ex boyfriend!
Shana: The media frenzy around Maxim Naumov. What if y’all let his parents rest and didn’t try to get clicks and cash off his loss? The man lost his parents, who were also his coaches, right before the most stressful year/time in his sport. Perhaps have some concern or care. Not to mention, it’s going to cause people who know nothing about him and/or the insanely talented men’s field that will be at the Olympics, to start to get this impression that he only made the team because of the tragedy. Imagine the backlash if/when he doesn’t miraculously become the “story” NBC wants.
Do better.
Ashley T.: Getting online and seeing all the neanderthals and mouth breathers bash Star Trek: Starfleet Academy before it even aired, and then the continued trolling that occurred after the episodes aired. No one has to like everything, but gosh, please actually watch something first and engage intelligently.
Aracelis: I loved this week’s episode of 9-1-1, but I was really annoyed that Buck didn’t react when a gun was fired near Eddie. In past seasons, Buck has always reacted strongly when Eddie is in danger, and that emotional response is a huge part of their dynamic. Buddie isn’t just a popular ship, their relationship is what made people fall in love with them in the first place. Buck not reacting at all felt jarring and honestly made it feel like the show is losing the plot.
Quote of the Week

Raquel: “It’s fine. We eat ingrained misogyny for breakfast.” — Lucy from this week’s The Rookie.
Shana: “I don’t give a sh** what you are, I just want you out of my castle.” Johnny Weir, The Traitors Season 4 Episode 5.
Ashley T.: “If you want to serve the galaxy, make your bed. Here’s another. Get to class on time. It doesn’t seem like much. Just tiny acts of service to your fellow cadets. A single stitch, then another, and another, until you’ve woven something greater than you ever imagined. A tapestry. The tapestry that is Starfleet. That is history.” – Chancellor Nahla Ake in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy season 1 episode 2 “Beta Test”
Lizzie: “The boat came, docked and left without her.” – Michelle Visage on this week’s Ru Paul’s Drag Race.
