Love is Blind season 10 tests what it means to fall in love…again. Do looks, money, and other things matter when it comes to matters of the heart? Or can you fall in love with someone sight unseen? Again, we are watching a bunch of hopefuls navigate these questions in Love is Blind Season 10, Episodes 1-6. And since we can’t control ourselves (as evidenced by Love is Blind breakdowns of multiple seasons), here is our breakdown of the first 6 episodes of season 10!

1. How does this season compare to the last 9 and the international spin-offs?

Lizzie: It’s so, so boring. Omg, why is this so boring? I got to episode 4 and realized I could barely tell these people apart. Also, I didn’t care about their supposedly distinct journeys. I didn’t have any particular attachment to anyone (Victor and Christine, maybe). And worst of all, I didn’t even have any great dislikes. I ended up finding stuff to hate in the last few episodes, but this season was rough. I feel like the edit is a direct response to the fact that no one got married in Season 9, but it was definitely a mistake to go this hard on the “love” part.
Lyra: In comparison to other seasons of Love is Blind, Season 10 has me utterly bored. I think the show saw how disappointed people were with no one getting married in the Season 9 finale that they course corrected so hard that it went right into boring. Yes, I watch this show for the connections between people. But I also watch it for the drama and conflict. Because these people are put in tough situations. Yet someone Season 10 kept everything surface level while giving us these engaged couples with no real connection to each other or the viewer.

2. Is there any couple that makes you feel like love is truly blind and why?

Lizzie: That’s taking it too far. I like Christine and Victor, I think they’re genuine. I don’t know that I’d say the same for any of the other couples, even while Netflix was trying to sell me everlasting love.
Lyra: Out of all of the couples in Season 10, the only one that I think has a real chance is Christine and Victor. They were given the most time and felt genuine in all of their interactions. And that was only elevated when they met up. It felt easy and like breathing. That’s what I need. I especially need that when they have that look in their eyes like the world has disappeared and only they are there in that space.
3. Which couple do you feel IS NOT going to make it and why?

Lizzie: I honestly think if Emma and Mike make it, she’s going to regret it. You can’t compromise on kids. You can’t. So, every time couples pretend you can, it annoys me. You can’t have half a kid.
I also don’t think Brittany and Davonta are getting out of Mexico, even. They are definitely not on the same page. Hell, they’re not even in the same book. Whatever connection they thought they had, it definitely didn’t translate. And I don’t feel too sad about it. They just don’t belong together.
Lyra: Emma and Mike. She settled. Let’s be for real. The other guys didn’t work out and she wanted to leave the pods engaged. That’s not the only reason why they won’t last. There’s also the having babies conversation. Over and over again Emma has made it clear that she doesn’t want kids. And he doesn’t care. Instead of respecting her he’s basically like, “Oh, I’ll be able to convince her.” Right off the bat you’re starting a relationship on two completely different pages. No, two completely different books. She needs to dump him, asap.
Also Bri and Connor. She doesn’t want drama. Instead it’s giving like she wants jealousy. And Mike and Ashley simply aren’t going to make it because they think they’re David and Victoria Beckham. They’re not. Oh and let’s not forget Devo and Brittany. He’s just not attracted to her. It’s all in the eyes. Basically everyone isn’t going to make it besides one couple.
4. Who is the drama of this season?

Lizzie: Kevan annoyed me so much. If a man can’t make up his mind and just accepts whatever he’s being told by whoever is telling him, he deserves to get dumped twice. But his drama lasted very little and now he’s gone, so I think now the drama might be… Alex? What’s that whole conversation with Brittany about? That’s some nasty stuff, Alex. Truly. You’re talking about being David and Posh and then you do this? Disgusting. .
Lyra: Kevan was the drama… before he got dumped by Tyler and Keya. He just couldn’t make up his mind even if his life was on the line. And he continued to do what was needed in the situation. When that didn’t work out, he went to the men and got them to make the decisions for him. This all led to a mess where Tyler and Keya were confused and lost. And I’m glad they chose themselves and walked away from him. Because he wasn’t ready for marriage at all.
The second drama is ACCIDENTALLY PUTTING NAIL GLUE IN YOUR EYES! Please check what you’re putting in your eyes. And if you’re having an emergency, go to the hospital ASAP.
5. How did Season 10 of Love is Blind rate when it comes to diversity?

Lizzie: Diversity whut? There are 4 women I can barely tell apart from each other. There are four men I can barely tell apart, except that one is tall. They clearly cut around any political talk, and we didn’t see any talk of race, religion, or anything important, even though from the little we got from the lounge, these things were indeed discussed. Anyway, it wasn’t great!
Lyra: Love is Blind Season 10 Episodes 1-6 barely touched topics centered on representation. But when it did, it made me question how white is Ohio? Because the couples that made it out of the pods commented on how they haven’t dated a “woman of color” while looking like they are people of color. And they were also seemingly having problems with connecting the way that the women looked with their voice. Because she sounded white? And what do Latina women sound like anyway? Stereotypes are bad, babes.
6. What was your biggest red flag moment this season?

Lizzie: Alex basically going yeah, my fiancée is pretty and all, but she’s not like ‘my type, my type,’ but you are to Brittany. Like what in the world was that? He had another red flag moment when he was talking about how he used to be superficial before, but now he’s changed, which truly felt like he was reading off a script, and it’s funny how quickly his true colors came out. Funny, not in a haha way, I mean.
Also, when Kevan told Tyler “you’re currently my girl” WHAT DO YOU MEAN CURRENTLY? WHAT DO YOU MEAN CURRENTLY, MY GUY? Currently is doing a lot of the heavy lifting in that sentence. I need people to think before they speak, I really do.
Lyra: Emma and the continued push by all the men for her to have babies. No means no. And the fact that you think you can change her means that you don’t accept her. So everything that comes after in Love is Blind Season 10 means nothing.
The biggest other red flag at this moment is how the conflicts, tension, or drama are beige. Usually, I lock in with this show because I love reality TV. But I was able to answer my emails, set up this post, and answer all the questions while watching. That’s how much these first four episodes lacked depth. Because it isn’t just about drama. I need depth to connect with the intensity of such an experience. And it’s not here.
Love is Blind Season 10 Episodes 1-6 are available on Netflix. New episodes premiere next Wednesday, February 18.
