Lola Tung is going to have a very busy year, and we’re celebrating! She’s filming The Summer I Turned Pretty movie and is also set to release her new film, Forbidden Fruits. And, yeah, we can’t wait to see it! Here’s everything we know.
In the movie, her character, Pumpkin, gets caught up in an sisterhood, and danger lurks as she falls down the rabbit hole. We’re intrigued! Apart from Lola Tung, the movie stars Lili Reinhart, Victoria Pedretti, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Chamberlain, and Gabrielle Union. So Tung shares scene with a cast full of bug names. And we love it! She deserves all the success.
As for the team behind the scenes, Meredith Alloway is the director and also sits in the writers’ room with Lily Houghton. Mason Novick, Diablo Cody, Trent Hubbard, and Mary Anne Waterhouse will serve as producers.

The Plot:
The official synopsis for Forbidden Fruits movie is: “Free Eden employee Apple secretly runs a witchy femme cult in the basement of the mall store after hours – with fellow fruits Cherry and Fig. But when new hire Pumpkin challenges their performative sisterhood, the women are forced to face their own poisons or succumb to a bloody fate.“

It’s official! Forbidden Fruits will premiere at SXSW on March 17, 2026 and globally in Theaters a few days later, on March 27, 2026.
