If you watch micro-dramas, you’ll become familiar with quite familiar with quite a few names. They do a lot of verticals and honestly are the really good at them. They can play the strong, the vulnerable, the overly dramatic. As they gain more and more notoriety, it is also nice to see that they are taking more and more control over their paths.
Some of the biggest names in verticals have joined forces to start a production company. Eric Guilmette, Sarah Moliski, Felix Merback and Rebecca Stoughton have joined forces with Charles Brand to create the vertical video label, Full Moon Artists (FMA) Productions.
“As a veteran pioneer in new media, from home video to streaming, I am extremely enthusiastic about the possibilities and potential in the Vertical micro-drama arena,” said Band in a statement, “Working alongside this team, all of whom are among the biggest names in their field, to form this new venture has been both exciting and eye opening. These creatives are on the cutting edge of the Vertical world, and we have big plans to develop some truly incredible entertainments for some of the most relevant Vertical platforms out there, while also making innovative inroads into the independent feature film markets.”
Look we love verticals. These four are some of our favorites and we’re excited that they’d have more of a say in what is made. We’re also interested because they will also be working on making alternative horizontal feature versions of their productions for streaming platforms.
Eric Guilmette has been in over 40 verticals – some of them being ones you should watch ASAP. We paid to watch Kansas Sweetheart last night and its pretty good. We couldn’t wait until Match 18th for it. We love when he plays a Dad role. He plays an Alpha a lot, so he’s even gotten us into werewolf verticals.
Sarah Moliski is our favorite villain in verticals, but from what we hear she’s the sweetest in real life. She’s known in the vertical drama world as a casting director, content strategist, and good at talent development. There are just so many great verticals she’s been in.
Rebecca Stoughton has been in over 40 verticals and takes on a lot of lead roles. She has been in some of our favorites – including Office Enemies, Backstage Love, and Bet on Us. Her latest, Lost and Found, is next on our list of ones to watch.
Felix Merback is someone whose verticals we’ve been getting into more lately, after seeing him in Taming the Mad King. He seems to really choose his verticals with care and want to make great content.
Charles Bands Full Moon Productions will house the vertical video label, Full Moon Artists (FMA) Productions. We’re waiting to hear more.
