Sports dramas are all the rage these days and we’re definitely not sad about that. All the different sports, all the drama, and all the different characters. Polo wasn’t something that we thought about, but luckily we have The Duke and Duchess of Sussex for that.
The two are executive producing a polo-themed drama, under their Netflix deal. This definitely surprised us, because we have read time and time again that their deal with Netflix was over. But here we are and we’re moving forward and we’re excited for the possibility of a polo sports drama.
The show will come from Archewell Productions and Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s Fake Empire, written by Francisca X. Hu.
So what would the show be about? Well according to Deadline, it is an “upstairs-downstairs drama set in the high-flying equestrian town of Wellington, FL, which revolves around the messy dynamics between two rival teams and the families that lead them.”
We’re going to have to go and watch the Polo docuseries and see what is up over there to prepare for this show. We’ll see what happens and if this comes to fruition. But we are definitely interested.
