Bridgerton Season 5 is taking shape! Since we discovered that Franchaela would be the next love story to make us swoon, more well-known faces and talented actors are becoming part of this season. Let’s review who they and their characters are.
The Leads
Of course, we have our two leads for Season 5, Hannah Dodd and Masali Baduza. They will bring Franchaela’s story to life. And the descriptions of their characters are quite interesting. For example, Francesca is described as ”reserved and contained, Francesca has long felt out of place in the world. As Michaela stirs up new feelings inside her, Fran will make discoveries about herself that could change everything.”
Meanwhile, it’s made clear that “beneath Michaela’s charming and vivacious exterior hides a vulnerable young woman who is quick to run the second she feels discomfort. But this season, Michaela must face her vulnerability head-on as she’s forced to navigate her relationship to her late cousin’s legacy — and to Francesca.”
New Characters
Three actors have joined Bridgerton Season 5 to shape new and exciting storylines! They are Tenga Alexander, Jacqueline Boatswain, and Gemma Knight Jones. And these are its characters.
Tega Alexander will play the role of Christopher Anderson. He’s a “Regency-era Casanova who could give the Bridgerton bachelors a run for their money. Yet behind his cheeky facade lies a current of self-doubt that threatens to unravel him.” And we can’t help but wonder if he will be a suitor of Francesca—although the fact that his father and Violet were so…close perhaps complicates that a little. But yeah, we’re sure that the son of Lord Anderson will make his mark on society, one way or another…
Jacqueline Boatswain will be Helen Stirling. She’s Michaela’s mother “and the very source of her spirit. Like any mama, she seeks to guide — and occasionally push — her daughter through London’s social season, with equal measures vivaciousness and tough love.” So we’ll have a watchful mother around here. She and Violet seem to have similar methods, so hopefully they’ll get along.
Gemma Knight Jones as Lady Elizabeth Ashworth. Elizabeth is “an old friend of Michaela’s who serves as her confidante and London guide. Beneath Elizabeth’s playful charm lies a grounded realist who is wise to the unspoken rules of society.” So it seems Elisabeth is going to be the friend who’s there for Michaela…but also the one who will make her realize that society won’t easily accept her and Francesca’s love. Could this cause them to clash at some point? We can’t wait to find out!
