It seems like it’s been forever since we last visited Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe, but The Vampire Lestat Season 1 is almost here! (Finally. It’s not like we’re immortal over here…unlike some people.) AMC has shared plenty of news with us during the wait, and as we get even closer to the series premiere, we’re sure there will be even more news to come. So, what’s the release date, where’s the trailer, and what else can you expect? Here’s everything we know.
Wait. What happened to Interview with the Vampire Season 3?
At SDCC 2025, it was announced that Lestat would be taking over completely. This makes sense, considering the Interview with the Vampire Season 2 finale wrapped up the adaptation of the first book in Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles, and The Vampire Lestat is the second book. Besides, the Brat Prince is kind of a diva. If we’re honest, we’re surprised he didn’t take center stage even sooner.
Synopsis
According to the press release, here’s what you can expect:
“The wild and captivating next chapter in Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe follows Lestat as the world’s first immortal rock star on an electric multi-city tour, while he’s haunted by ‘muses’ from his rebellious past.”
A previous press release told us:
“Resentful of the perfunctory portrayal in the trashy bestseller ‘Interview with the Vampire,’ the Vampire Lestat (Sam Reid) sets his story straight in a way only the Vampire Lestat can—by starting a band and going on tour. Gabriella. Nicholas. Magnus. Marius. Those Who Must Be Kept. They join Louis, Armand, Molloy, Sam, Raglan, Fareed and others we can’t tell you about yet on a sexy pilgrimage across space, time and trauma. No Auto-Tuning. No Trigger Warnings. All Feels Amplified.”
And here’s what Lestat Himself would like for you to know:
“It’s My Era. I’m a Rockstar Now.”
If you’d like to listen to that rockstar’s official singles, check out his artist profile pages on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube, and more. (In the mortal world, “the songs’ original music and lyrics, by series’ composer Daniel Hart and performed by [star Sam] Reid, will be featured in the series, and additional infectious new tracks will roll out in the coming months.”)
And feel free to rock out to the title sequence!
Cast
Sam Reid will be back as the Vampire Lestat. He’ll be joined by Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac, Assad Zaman as the vampire Armand, Eric Bogosian as Daniel Molloy, Delainey Hayles as Claudia, and Jennifer Ehle as Gabriella. Additional cast members include:
- Sheila Atim as Akasha,
- Christopher Heyerdahl as Marius,
- Damien Atkins as Magnus,
- Justin Kirk as Raglan James, and
- Gopal Divan as Fareed.
And we can’t forget the band:

The series is executive produced by award-winning producer Mark Johnson, creator, writer and showrunner Rolin Jones, Hannah Moscovitch, along with Christopher Rice and the late Anne Rice.
