We watch a lot of TV and movies! So yeah, we’re fangirling over a lot of things! Each week we come together to highlight all the feels they give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?
Here we go!
Best Scene of the Week

Raquel: Carol taking on a group of bikers to find Oliver in this week’s Brilliant Minds. What a queen!
Lizzie: About ¾ of the ‘Rafa’ documentary, truly. I watched the entire thing wondering how that man even played one year of tennis, much less have the legendary career he had, considering his Mueller-Weiss syndrome diagnosis. When he was talking about being in so much pain that he had to have his foot numbed for an entire tournament, that he then won? Hats off to Rafa Nadal, truly. One of the best sports documentaries I’ve ever watched.
Jasmine: I love when Euphoria does character backstories. It gives us a chance to learn what shaped them as people in the present. Getting Alis (Colman Domingo) on episode 3×07 was long overdue. He’s been helping Rue for a long time and now we have the why. I know we already knew he had his own history of addiction. But this episode dove deeper.
We got to see how addiction destroyed his family and almost ended his life. That was the catalyst for him to begin helping others struggling to break free from addiction. Colman Domingo is amazing and his scenes were some of my favorite in the whole episode. Especially those with Zendaya.
Ship of the Week

Raquel: I’m still watching Off Campus, so I have to say Garrett & Hannah. I’m obsessed!
Shana: Deborah and Ava on Hacks. That vacation! Show me two people more in love. I dare you.
Lyra: Danny and Claude are back on my screen in The Four Seasons Season 2. And they truly are one of the most dynamic, complex, and lovely queer couples on TV. Sure, they aren’t perfect. And a lot of times they’re on different pages. But love is complex and you see that in these two.
Best Performance of the Week

Shana: Too many to count this week! But in honor of Criminal Minds: Evolution being back, and in honor of it being about effin’ time they gave him something worthy of his talents to work with, Adam Rodriguez in that second episode. Just totally wrecked me, start to finish—every subtle shift, all the big emotional hits, and everything in between.
Lizzie: I want to add something new here, but Shana is 100% right. Procedurals are tricky because characters can sometimes go long stretches without getting any material that really showcases their talents, but Episode 2 ‘Cluster’ was Rodriguez’s chance, and it was such a good reminder of how good he is and how good a character Luke can be. More, please!
Jasmine: Jibre Hordges who plays Jacob Hawthorne on Beyond the Gates gave an amazing performance on Friday. His friend Derek’s who was a firefighter died after trying to save Jacob who was on an undercover mission. Jacob is feeling so much guilt because of that.
During Derek’s memorial Jibre played out so many emotions. The look of hurt, shock, and guilt as he sat there was palpable. Then when he finally allowed himself to shed some tears as he spoke about Derek, it was heartbreaking. All throughout the episode I couldn’t stop focusing on him because he really did make me feel so sad for him.
Moment that Annoyed Us This Week

Raquel: It annoyed me that ABC’s Brilliant Minds barely gave us time to see Oliver in the last episode. We didn’t even explore how he feels.
Jasmine: Lexie really got on my nerves in Euphoria 3×07. Rue was over her apartment pouring her heart out about God, her life choices, and she let it out that she’s been working undercover with the DEA. Lexie’s response was to ask her if she was using again. Rue has said repeatedly she’s sober. Lexie is supposed to be a friend.
The fact that she even asked Rue something like that shows she doesn’t think Rue is capable of change. As I’ve watched this season I have pretty much come to realize Rue doesn’t have a great support system. I know she’s burned bridges because of the things she did under the influence but her friends should feel happy for her and should be able to tell that she’s being honest.
Lyra: Sorry not sorry, but Salina earned that top placement on RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 11. Her challenge How-To Video got tons of praise and reminded me of Alaska’s Lil’ Poundcake. Then there was her runway look. It was refined, beautiful, and showed how much she’s grown as a creative. But she didn’t end up as the top two? Guess if you’re not a production or Ru favorite, you’re out of luck.
Quote of the Week

Raquel: “I got you the note.” “And I got you the guy.” – Hannah and Garrett from Off Campus.
Shana: “It’s easy to start a war, but it’s almost impossible to stop one.” – Aleida Rosales, For All Mankind.
Gonna cheat and add a second one from that finale, too: “The truth is…not everything can be fixed. Some problems…can’t be worked. Some you…you just have to live with.” – Margo Madison. If you know this character’s whole journey and how many seemingly-impossible problems she’s worked, ouch.
Jasmine: “It’s like he spent his whole life auditioning to be a guardian angel and he finally got the job.” – Joan, Beyond the Gates.
