Get ready to unearth a new fear of heights in the official teaser trailer for Fall 2: Deadpoint!
Back in 2022, Fall was a surprising hit. The B-action thriller told the story of climbers Becky Connor and Shiloh Hunter, who find themselves stuck at the top of a 2,000 foot TV tower. Directed by Scott Mann and also written by him and Jonathan Frank, it got praise for the gripping tension and practical effects. And our favorite detail is that a platform was built in the director’s backyard for Fall so actresses Grace Caroline Currey and Virginia Gardner could figure out the technical bits. Oh and that tower? It was real. Just instead of 2,000 feet it was about 50-60 feet.
Now Scott Mann and Jonathan Frank are back for the sequel, with a twist. They’re the writers and The Spierig Brothers are directing it. And playing the two best friends in Thailand who are facing unpredictable terrain, extreme exposure, and a fight for their survival: Harriet Slater as Jax Hunter (Shiloh’s sister) and Arsema Thomas as Luce. Actor Tom Brittney will also be joining them. But at the heart of this story is once again, friendship.
In the official teaser trailer for Fall 2: Deadpoint we’re thrown right into the middle of things. After a myriad of warnings as to what extreme heights can do to the human body, Slater and Thomas are both stuck on a wall. And we assume they’re at 11,000 feet because of the intro. Slater turns away as Thomas tries to skip across these poles sticking out of the rock to get their backpack. Knowing how the first movie went, that backpack is their survival.
