Mason Thames has a new role, and we’re definitely intrigued. The actor has signed on for a role in Lionsgate’s John Wick spinoff Caine.
Caine will star as martial arts master and the franchise’s actor Donnie Yen. Also announced in addition to Yen are Rina Sawayama, who will also reprise her role as Akira, and Dacre Montgomery.
Who will Thames play? You’re cute, cause if you think that there are any clues as to who he’ll be playing or anything about the character, you would be wrong. Like most things, it is being kept under wraps.
We know that it will continue Yen’s character’s story from John Wick: Chapter Four. In the movie, Caine has been freed from his obligations to The High Table.
We’d really love to know what part Thames has, but we now we’re not getting our way here. Secrets – some of them – are a good thing, and this is one of the times we should be surprised.
The movie is currently in production, being watched over by John Wick franchise producers Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee. The writer of the upcoming The Batman Part II, Mattson Tomlin, is writing the screenplay.
Coming up next for Thames are his films Nimrods, the Green Day-inspired film, and Idiots alongside Dave Franco and O’Shea Jackson Jr.
What are you excited to see Thames in? What’s your favorite film you’ve seen him in?
