Prime Video has solidified itself not only as the place for young adult adaptations, but also for romance. They really took their time and made sure that that they were picking books and scripts that the audience could really relate to. Books that are truly loved.
One of those books – Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score. The story, “follows runaway bride Naomi Witt (Griggs), who arrives in the quirky town of Knockemout, Virginia; she expects to rescue her estranged twin (Griggs) and return to the life she left behind. Instead, her sister disappears, leaving Naomi with a niece she never knew existed, a town full of irresistible characters — including charming local sheriff Nash Morgan (Martinez) and his decidedly grumpy but infuriatingly sexy brother Knox Morgan (Noszka) — and a future she never imagined.”
The cast for the adaptation has been chosen and it’s some names that you know and one we didn’t.
Molly Griggs is playing twin sisters Naomi Witt and Tina Witt. Though we aren’t familiar with her work, we know that we are going to sit down and get familiar with her work. Some of the work that she’s done. The actress has recurred on such shows as Dr. Death, Succession, Servant and Prodigal Son.
We know she’s gotta be amazing because pulling double duty as twins is not an easy feat.
Matthew Noszka will play Knox Morgan. Noska has been making quite a name for himself over the past few years. He’s starred in such projects as No Hard Feelings opposite Jennifer Lawrence, Fox’s Star, Netflix’s Let It Snow, Amazon’s Perfect Addiction and Marked Men.
Tommy Martinez will play Nash Morgan. We know Martinez from Good Trouble as well as LAID. He’s also been on CW’s Riverdale, Prime Video’s Hunters, Apple TV’s The Mosquito Coast, and Prime Video’s Bosch.
Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder adapted the book for the adaptation, co-writing the pilot. In addition they will be co-showrunners and executive producers on the project. Author Lucy Score will also serve as co-executive producer.
