We watch a lot of TV and movies! So yeah, we’re fangirling over a lot of things! Each week we come together to highlight all the feels they give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?

Best Scene of the Week
Raquel: Brian and Ellen vowing to find each other again and pick up their plans where they left off once it’s all over—in Outlander: Blood of My Blood Season 2, Episode 1. My heart is still racing!
Rachel: This week, I was really impressed at the way Lanterns 1×05 built up the action sequences at the climax of the episode. Hal’s escape from the alien tech that neutralizes his ring was exciting, and then the fist fight that followed between Hal and John was BRUTAL. This episode really felt like a season finale but it’s just episode 5!
Ashley W.: I loved the scene in Lanterns episode 1×05: “Lights Out” when John Stewart gives up the ring and makes his own choice for the first time. There’s so much power and growth in being able to make that decision, and it made me root for him in a way I hadn’t necessarily been doing before.
Ship of the Week
Raquel: Brellen for the win!
Rachel: As a huge Janeite, I have to say Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice because we got the poster, first look photos, and most importantly, a release date for Netflix’s upcoming miniseries of the classic romance. This is my favorite novel of all time, so you better believe I’m ready. These two are always a “Ship of the Week” in my heart.
Shana: My copy came late and had some USPS hiccups that made me wonder if I was going to have to walk the Gauntlet at Sterling Library with my four favorite murders to retrieve it from Hell, but now that I’m finally getting to read Leigh Bardugo’s Dead Beat, I’m back on my Alex and Darlington BS. “Inserviam tibi usque ad finem temporum” and all that good stuff.
Best Performance of the Week
Raquel: Jeremy Irvine in Blood of my Blood. That was tough and difficult, and he was brilliant.
Rachel: Aaron Pierre really sold me on the final moment of Lanterns 1×05. He has always been fantastic as John Stewart but the act of turning down the Green Lantern ring was a huge turning point for his character. He spent his whole life training for that ring, and he would be an excellent Lantern, but Pierre made you feel how recent events changed everything for him.
Ashley W.: I agree with Rachel that Aaron Pierre deserves recognition for his performance as John Stewart in Lanterns, but I also want to highlight Poorna Jagannathan’s work as Zoe Macon, especially in episode 1×05. It was really intriguing to see an earlier version of Zoe and how she interacted and swayed Kerry Kane to her side. Now we have that as a contrast to not only how she has been with John but also to her current self now that she isn’t hiding her true identity. Poorna has done a great job juggling the various layers and complexities to Zoe, and she nailed her character’s final scene.
Shana: Now, I know absolutely no one who knows me—and also zero people who read the roundtables from this week—is going to be surprised I’m saying this, but Amber Glenn was so good on Dancing with the Stars. I’m not only talking about her strong cha cha either. Amber was working that camera both nights of competition whenever she got a chance (get those votes, girl), and the way she supported every single competitor was so on brand with who she is as a figure skater, too. We have no choice but to continue to stan.
Moment that Annoyed Us This Week
Rachel: I’m just going to go ahead and say that this week, I was annoyed by some reactions to the Pride and Prejudice first look that proved some people haven’t read the book. I’ll leave it at that.
Ashley W.: None of this is a recent revelation whatsoever, but the latest episode of Lanterns really highlighted just how little John’s parents actually care for him as a person and, even more so, their son. This man nearly dies, but you never get the sense that, even though they know John is ultimately fine, his parents were ever concerned for his wellbeing. All they care about is that John is going to become a Green Lantern and how close he is to becoming a Green Lantern. It’s sad but also makes John finding his own agency all the more satisfying.
Shana: They basically kept Mariana Stars on Latina Royale long enough to have Supremme De Luxe there for her elimination, just like Grag Queen had to be there for DesiRée Beck’s. That’s some nasty work. (But I did like what Supremme said to Mariana at the end, at least.)

Shana: “Andy Cohen, you can eat it!” – Derek Hough after Julia Stiles’ performance on the second night of the Dancing with the Stars premiere. (Cohen had previously called her “not the greatest dancer on the planet,” and. Well. He had to grovel after that quickstep.)
