Have to admit that it makes sense for reality stars to be actors – after all we never know if they are telling the truth or not. They just sell us on the idea that it is real and that does take some good acting. Yet knowing that we had to stop and think – when was Kristin Cavallari start acting?
Turns out that she’s been in several productions – The Middle, The League, 9-1-1 Nashville – to name a few. And now she’s starring in the upcoming rom-com, Cowboy Hearts, alongside Tanner Novlan.
THE MOVIE
Cowboy Hearts will premiere on The Roku Channel. The logline of the show? When a no-nonsense reality TV producer (Cavallari) is sent to Georgia to oversee the reboot of the hit dating show Cowboy Hearts, she expects chaos behind the scenes, not romantic sparks with the cowboy himself (Novlan). Now, with the cameras rolling and her job on the line, she’ll have to decide if love is worth going off script.
“I’m so excited to be stepping back into acting and getting to do something completely different with a rom-com!” Cavallari said in a statement. “After such a great experience working with Roku on The Reunion: Laguna Beach, it feels especially exciting to be working with their team again — but this time for a scripted film! I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”

Brian Tannenbaum, Head of Originals, Roku Media, added, “After the success of The Reunion: Laguna Beach, we knew we weren’t done working with Kristin. Casting one of reality TV’s most iconic stars as a reality TV producer was too good to resist — and she absolutely delivers in the role. Kristin and Tanner are fantastic together, the movie is a blast, and we can’t wait for audiences to fall for Cowboy Hearts next year.”
Cowboy Hearts will be out in 2027. We’re interested and can’t wait to hear more. The movie will air on The Roku Channel.
