CIA Season 2 is almost here! We already have some details and goodies about it, and we can’t wait to know more! So, if you don’t want to miss anything, here’s everything we know about CIA Season 2.
Who Is Returning for CIA Season 2?
Fortunately, all of the cast members are returning for CIA Season 2! So expected returning main cast members include:
- Tom Ellis as CIA Agent Colin Glass.
- Nick Gehlfuss as FBI Special Agent Bill Goodman.
- Necar Zadegan as CIA Deputy Chief of Station Nikki Reynard.
- Natalee Linez as CIA Analyst Gina Gosian.
We can also expect to see Angela Sarafyan as Toni, since she will be a recurring cast member this season. She will be ready to prove herself to the CIA and, on a personal level, to Colin. On top of that, due to the increase in the episode count—from 12 to 22—new faces are expected to join Season 2 as we delve deeper into the agency. We will likely meet more of the experts, analysts, intelligence officers, and other personnel working alongside Colin and Bill.

What Will Happen After the CIA Season 2 Cliffhanger?
The Season 1 finale, ended with Colin and Bill working together like a well-oiled machine. Meanwhile, the mystery surrounding the mole inside the task force was finally resolved. But even though they had found their rhythm professionally, their personal and professional lives were left in a very different place.
For Colin, the biggest blow came when he discovered that Toni, the woman he loved and whose death he had spent a year investigating, was secretly alive. She had been in CIA custody after attempting to clean up the mole network within Pyramid Security, turning what Colin thought he knew about her death into a betrayal.
That discovery is set to bring back a much harsher and more guarded version of Colin in Season 2. So, according to the showrunner Mike Weiss, Colin’s story in Season 2 will involve finding his way back to some of the humanity he may have lost as a result of Toni’s reappearance and everything that came with it.
Bill, meanwhile, made a very different kind of life-changing decision at the end of Season 1. He turned down his dream job as an assistant special agent in charge in Cleveland. All of that because he chose to remain with the fusion cell and continue working as Colin’s partner. Season 2 will now explore the aftermath of that choice and what it means for the direction Bill wants his life to take.
His central conflict will revolve around figuring out who he is supposed to be. Bill has to reconcile the idea of becoming the law-and-order FBI agent he once imagined himself as with the possibility that he can do more good by working with Colin. Weiss has indicated that Bill’s eventual choice may not be much of a mystery, but the important part will be understanding why he made it.
And as they continue working together on top-secret operations, Colin and Bill will also have the chance to support each other. There is a genuine affection between the two characters, even if neither of them is particularly willing to say it out loud and that gives their partnership a whole new dynamic to explore.
Do FBI and CIA Have Crossovers?
Yes, FBI and CIA are launching their new seasons with linked crossover appearances on October 5. But they’re separate episodes, not one two-hour crossover story.
CIA Deputy Chief of Station Nikki Reynard appears in the FBI Season 9 premiere, where she assists the team with the investigation. And this won’t necessarily be a one-off appearance. Showrunner Mike Weiss has indicated that Nikki will return to the show more than once throughout the season when cases require CIA expertise.
The crossover goes in the other direction, too. FBI Special Agent Stuart Scola will appear in the CIA Season 2 premiere. There, he helps Bill Goodman (Nick Gehlfuss) and the CIA team with an operation. That appearance also gives us a little more context for Scola’s connection to the CIA side of things, because we’ll learn that he and FBI agent Bill Goodman are old friends.
So, while FBI and CIA aren’t telling one giant two-hour story, the October 5 premieres are clearly connected through their characters and cases.
