One Chicago is gearing up! And Chicago Med is the first of the shows we already have some details about, and we’re dying to know more! So, if you don’t want to miss anything, here’s everything we know about Chicago Med Season 12.
The Cast:
Fortunately, all the cast members are returning for Chicago Med Season 12! So expected returning main cast members include:
- Oliver Platt as Dr. Daniel Charles
- S. Epatha Merkerson as Sharon Goodwin
- Jessy Schram as Dr. Hannah Asher
- Steven Weber as Dr. Dean Archer
- Luke Mitchell as Dr. Mitch Ripley
- Sarah Ramos as Dr. Caitlin Lenox
- Darren Barnet as Dr. John Frost
There are no changes in the behind-the-scenes team either. Dick Wolf, Allen MacDonald, Stephen Hootstein and Peter Jankowski are executive producers. The show is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with Wolf Entertainment.

The Plot:
We don’t have an official synopsis for Season 12 yet, but we know the new season will pick up the characters a few months after the end of Season 11. So, after the birth of Dean and Hannah’s daughter, they’ll both have to adjust to parenthood. And not only that, he told her he loved her, but she didn’t respond… so that’s still unresolved between them.
Lennox and Ripley also declared their love for each other—albeit with better results—and their relationship became very official at the end of the season! But the actress is pregnant in real life, so she’ll miss the first few episodes of the season, which will force the show to explain her absence. And we’d be lying if we said that didn’t worry us.
Meanwhile, Frost had to say goodbye to her awful father after his death, and hospital board member Miranda accused Sharon Goodwin of leaking Dr. Theo Rabari’s private medical records and demanded her resignation. So we can expect a cold war between them in the new episodes.
Furthermore, the showrunner confirmed that the friendship between Goodwin and Charles will also cool off in the upcoming episodes…so we can expect to see these two best friends separated, which hurts. In happier news, the showrunner also confirmed that this season will bring back a character from season 1, and now that we’ve seen Will and Natalie, our money’s on Ethan & April and Dr. Rhodes—and we love it!
