Lori Loughlin back on our television at Christmas? We’ll take it. We’ve missed her, and there’s something about seeing a familiar face during a season built around coming home. Before we even get to the ornaments or the possibilities waiting beneath the tree, her return already feels like a little gift.
The second weekend of Countdown to Christmas ends with What If Christmas, a title that goes straight for the two words I tend to avoid. What if. They sound so small until they find the tender place where you keep the things you never tried. The dream you put away because someone needed you. The version of yourself you still think about sometimes, then feel guilty for missing.
But here’s the thing about what-ifs: they exist whether we make room for them or not. For Erin (Loughlin), they begin getting louder when her husband Adam’s (Cavanagh) move to a new hospital leaves her without the Christmas charity galas she’s spent years organizing in support of his career. Back in New York City, with that familiar purpose suddenly gone, there’s room to remember what she once wanted for herself: a life in fashion design.
Then a peculiar heart-shaped Christmas ornament opens a door she thought had closed for good. Erin wakes up in a world where she pursued that dream, where her name belongs to a fashion empire and the life she imagined is hers to walk into. Only Adam is there, too—familiar enough to draw her closer, different enough to remind her how much has changed.
And that’s where the what-if gets complicated. Because it’s one thing to wonder about the life you didn’t choose. It’s another to stand inside it at Christmas, looking at someone you love, and have to introduce yourself.

SYNOPSIS
Erin (Loughlin) has always supported her heart surgeon husband, Adam’s (Cavanagh) career by organizing the hospitals’ Christmas charity galas. However, when he moves to a new hospital, her help is no longer needed. Feeling lost and without a purpose back in New York City, her long-suppressed regrets over giving up her dream of pursuing fashion design start bubbling up. When Erin is given a peculiar heart-shaped Christmas ornament, she wakes up in an alternate reality where she’s a world-famous fashion designer. As she “meets” and attends Christmas events with alternate universe Adam, she realizes that while her fashion dreams came true, it’s lonely at the top. While working on a way to bring more charity and heart to her fashion empire, she learns that her dream life and love were always right in front of her – if only she finds the heart and courage to ask.
