At the end of Season 3, Amaya said goodbye to the Legends and went back to her own time to make sure her family lineage remained on track. For a lot of fans, this seemed like it was the end of Maisie Richardson-Sellers’ time on the show. So imagine the shock when it was announced right after that she would be back for Season 4. How would she do that if Amaya couldn’t rejoin the Legends?
We got an explanation at San Diego Comic-Con.
“It picks up with me playing a completely different character,” Richardson-Sellers said in a press room interview. “I’m playing a character named Charlie now, who is basically a rebel kid, an anarchist…a sort of punk-rock kid.”
Charlie will show up a few episodes into the season, and might not be the most trustworthy of characters, as she will be looking out for herself first.
Richardson-Sellers says she is excited about the introduction of magic to Legends of Tomorrow. “I hope we really go further into the mystical world. I think now that magic is possible…that really opens up the possibility of seeing the dark side of magic, the light side of magic,” she said.
She also hinted Charlie and Constantine might not get along very well at first. Check out our interview below for those details and more!
Legends of Tomorrow returns to the CW on Monday, October 22 at 9 p.m./8 Central.
