When we learned The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power was headed to SDCC, we knew we’d get something epic. And we even had a wishlist for everything we wanted to see when the latest Tolkien adaptation made its way to Hall H. What we didn’t know was just how much we’d be fed.
First off. We dared to dream. And we received. Even after hosting a live edition of The Late Show, the world’s most famous, biggest, most knowledgeable Tolkien nerd, Stephen Colbert, made an appearance. Let’s just get that out of the way because most of y’all are probably here for actual footage from The Rings of Power, not us crying about a fanboy who happens to also be a late night host.
Next up: We weren’t sure which cast members were going to take the stage at Hall H. So, sure. Colbert interviewed them all. 21 people! I mean, when you’re at fandom’s biggest venue, why not go big?
And finally, we asked for “any and all footage.” Well. Buckle up, and take a glorious, epic visit to Middle Earth with us, friends. Because the latest The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power trailer is just loaded with beauty. One of the first images we see is absolute devastation, as a voiceover tells us: “The war, at last was ended.” Our jaws just drop every time we see all those stacked helmets of the dead. (Maybe we’ve already watched the trailer a few times, ok?)
And it just gets bigger, better, and bolder from there. After all, “evil does not sleep. It wakes.” And that glare! But look. We’re not going to describe the whole thing to you because you have to see it for yourself.
So, without further ado. Check out the latest The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power SDCC trailer below. And don’t say we didn’t warn you: It is everything.
“Have you heard of Sauron?”
Uh, yeah. We have.
