When you lose one of your icons, it’s hard to find the words. It’s hard to contain the emotions. It’s just …hard. And that’s us from the outside. The people who knew and loved Alan Rickman the best are now just reacting to the news of his passing, and if we thought the news was heartbreaking enough, then the reactions make this hit even harder.
First, there was J.K Rowling
There are no words to express how shocked and devastated I am to hear of Alan Rickman’s death. He was a magnificent actor & a wonderful man.

My thoughts are with Rima and the rest of Alan’s family. We have all lost a great talent. They have lost part of their hearts.

Daniel Radcliffe.
Then, Emma Watson.

Oliver Phelps
Terribly sad news about the passing of Alan Rickman. A funny and engaging person who put a shy young actor at ease when I was on HP.

James Phelps

Emma Thompson, who released the following statement:
He was the ultimate ally. In life, art and politics. I trusted him absolutely.
He was, above all things, a rare and unique human being and we shall not see his like again.”
Hugh Jackman
Alan Rickman. Incredible actor and director. Above all, the most generous, funny, loving friend to us. @Deborra_lee and I will miss you so .

And many, many others. Too many to fit on this page. Too many to even count. And we here at Fangirlish would like to take this moment to join the Harry Potter fans in saying goodbye to Alan Rickman, in the best way we know how. With our wands high.

Rest in peace, Alan Rickman. You really and truly will be missed.
I cried in public today thanks to Daniel Radcliffe’s words. On one of the best trips to New York, I actually had the chance to see both Alan Rickman and Daniel Radcliffe on stage — in separate theaters but still wild. And when speaking to Rickman at the stage door, I can truly say he was one of the most gracious persons I had ever met. I admired him so much.

I’ve been bawling non stop since I’ve heard the news. But whenever a cast member posts something, it’s like the wound reopens.
Really sad to hear the news. Loved him as the villainous sheriff in Robin Hood (was hilarious actually) and a stalwart in Sense & Sensibility.
