Tom Felton is trading one passionate fan base for another when the Harry Potter alum transitions over to The CW’s The Flash in season three. And while he may be new to the fandom, that hasn’t hampered his excitement for the project.
“I’m hugely excited. It seems to be mounting with each day that I’m doing this,” Felton told us during a roundtable interview at SDCC. “It was a recent thing. It was only about a month ago that this idea came up. So to be here talking about, and I’ve already had one day on set, I feel like part of the family in a real way already…I thought to myself, this sounds like the perfect thing that I would want to do.”
Felton couldn’t help likening his experience on The Flash to his experience with the Harry Potter franchise.
“Just meeting all the team, and it has a very – I don’t want to refer back to Potter too much, but it reminds me on being on set where you have a bunch of really happy artists who want to make the best show possible because it’s fun. Not for any other reason.”
Felton was be playing the role of Julian Dorn, who is a fellow CSI alongside Barry Allen at the Central City Police Department in this Flashpoint universe. And as you might expect, the two forensics experts will clash.
“He’s a forensic expert so he treads on the toes of what Barry is good at,” Felton said. “Hence they have a slightly abrasive relationship at first.
“It seems like a love-hate thing at first,” Felton continued. “They seem very similar. That may ruffle a few feathers.”
