There’s a fine line between hype and expectation when it comes to television. A show can build up an extensive amount of hype before it airs, but it usually fails to live up to the impossible expectations set by media and fans.
Freeform‘s newest show Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger is a show that’s received a ton of praise before its June bow.
This show is worth that hype.
Freeform has released a final extended trailer for Cloak & Dagger, which sets the stage for what’s going to be an epic 10-hour first season that will take us on a roller coaster of emotions. The trailer introduces us to our two heroes, Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph), who find themselves linked with each other and gifted with superpowers. While these two may be better together than apart, the mysterious omen in this trailer hints that their complicated relationship is only just beginning.
This show is unlike anything that Freeform has had on its network, and that’s exactly what it needed. This is a network-quality television series that manages to beautifully weave characters and storylines with a dark tone that is as alluring as it is mysterious and terrifying.
Trust us, this is one show you do not and cannot miss.
“Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger” is the story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) – two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers which are mysteriously linked to one another. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart, but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.
Marvel‘s Cloak & Dagger premieres Thursday, June 7 on Freeform.
