Another addition to the Cinderella cast and we’re intrigued. Excited because this addition is a good one.
Pierce Brosnan has joined the cast of the movie, which already includes Camila Cabello, Billy Porter, Idina Menzel and Nicholas Galitzine. Brosnan will play the latter’s father.
This isn’t your normal Cinderella story. Billy Porter, who will be playing the Fairy Godmother, has said, “The only thing I can know is that I am calling it a Cinderella for the #MeToo era.”
The retelling reimagines the story where Cinderella is a young woman whose dreams are “bigger than the world will allow.”
If I am being honest, I am intrigued to find out what exactly Cinderella’s dreams are here.
The script for the movie is being co-written by Blockers director Kay Cannon and James Corden. Cannon will also be directing the adaptation.
The new Cinderella adaptation gets us more and more exciting everyday. We’re going to have to wait awhile for it to come out, but you can guarantee that we’ll be following it along the way.
Cinderella is due to start filming in February 2020, for a Feb. 5, 2021 release.
