Lets all be honest – we spend way too much time in this world focusing on what people look like versus who they are. It’s a sad fact in life that we forget that people are more than who they are on the outside.
I spent a majority of my life severely obese and judged – as if I was less of a person – due to my weight. But in the same moments I would look at Hollywood and the world and how overweight people are made the subject of jokes and scrutiny.
And we all accept it.
It just becomes part of life and when you’re in Hollywood it can really fuck with you. Especially when you start in the industry bigger. They expect you to be a certain way and stay that way.
And Rebel Wilson is talking all about it and her recent weight loss and that 2020 was the year of health.
“Weirdly this year was always going to be the year of health. I’ve been naming my years now, and, that’s kind of having these resolutions but for the whole year.”
I have to admit, I have felt the same way, so I get what Rebel is saying. Change is not easy, but when you commit to it – it becomes a force so deep within you, that you will settle for nothing less.
“I always thought that I may be psychic and I always felt this year I wasn’t really going to work much. I turned 40 as well in March and so I thought, This is gonna be it. This is going to be the year for me to just concentrate on the health benefits,” Rebel said to The Sun.
She continued, “I was overeating and I had a job where I was paid a lot of money to be bigger, at times, which kind of can mess with your head a bit. So now I’m just trying to work on the mental side and the physical job and doing a lot of personal training and, and on the nutrition side, like, it’s cool.”
Rebel is an inspiration and following her weight loss has helped inspire me on my own journey. So far she has lost 18KG and is continuing on her road to loosing more.
Thank you for sharing your story with the world, Rebel.
