Parents know what is best for us, right? In the case of Britney Spears, I wonder if her father does know best. I don’t know the man, have no intimate knowledge of Britney’s life, and only know what I read.
But the thing is – regardless of what Britney’s issues are, it doesn’t mean that she doesn’t know what she needs. She may not be able to make decisions for herself, but she knows what triggers her and what makes her feel worse or better.
We told you how Britney’s attorney filed a request on her behalf to have her father removed from her conservatorship, but we know now that Jamie doesn’t want that to happen.
Jamie filed his own set of papers, asking the Superior Court of California on August 19th, requesting to have Andrew Wallet return as co-conservator of her estate. Andrew had handled all of Britney’s finances until 2019.
Jamie asked that along with Andrew, they be granted, “power to obtain all documents and records” relating to her estate, including “all contracts, information relating to credit cards, bank statements, estate planning documents, receivables, and any and all powers of attorney.”
Britney had asked that her temporary conservator, Jodi Montgomery, be her sole conservator. Earlier today, Jodi’s control of the conservatorship was extended until February of 2021.
Lawyers for Britney knew that Jamie would aggressively contest the paperwork for change that she filed.
“We are now at a point where the conservatorship must be changed substantially in order to reflect the major changes in her current lifestyle and her stated wishes.” they stated.
Whatever happens we hope the best for Britney. I am sure that everyone has ideas of what that means, but I do believe that she knows what is best for her own mental state – even if the only part is knowing what triggerrs her.
